Bike Trails Around LA
Original Post by clharr:
Staying fit and healthy means staying active. But staying active doesn't mean you have to spend all your time in a stinky gym! Lets use this thread to post fun activities you have tried or heard about in the LA area.
Since I like cycling and am trying to do more of it, I will start by posting bike trails.

Find a trail near you and get out and ride!
Griffith Park is great for hilly and flat bike rides. PCH is awesome, but very dangerous. Anywhere along the boardwalk is beautiful.
If you are looking for a great hiking/walking trail for 1 1/2 hours - 2 here are a few great ones:
Los Liones(off Sunset/in Pacific Palisades area)
Will Roger's - this one kicked my butt!
Temescal Canyon - "the loop"
Baldwin Hills Scenic park (new place in Culver City)
Kenneth Hahn park (Baldwin Hills of La Cienega)
For the first 3 it's recommended that if you go on Saturday or Sunday to get there really early - like 5:30am/6am - as the trails are very popular and annoyingly crowded any later
thanks for that info. will try those trails. I have tried Turnbull over at Whittier ~ has beginning to expert, pretty good work out.
Look for Dirt Mulholland in the West San Fernando Valley. Lots of people biking, jogging, and walking. I usually enter from Reseda Blvd. Take the 101 to the Reseda Blvd exit. Travel south on Reseda until you hit the end. Go up the trail head and you'll be at Dirt Mulholland. Go east for 3 miles to check out the old Nike Missile site or head west towards Topanga Canyon and beyond.
It's not flat so you get a good workout.
