Hi all-

So I'm going on vacation in a couple of days, and I bought this bathing suit a few months ago with the intention of wearing it once I lost some weight... and I never lost the weight.  I'm 5'4.5" and 127 lbs. Should I wear it?

** I originally wanted to get down to 115, but I've been trying for a couple of years and I've only ever been able to get down to 119. So 119 is my goal because I haven't yet been able to maintain it for more than a couple of days.

YES! I'm about 10lbs. heavier than you and about the same height... and no one has stopped and pointed so I think you are more than fine.  What weight are you trying to loose????

I'm 5'2" and 150 lbs and I can't wait to wear my bikini in a week. No one cares about bikinis anymore, the media just wants us to think everyone does. Wear it, life is too short to waste worrying about stuff like the few dimples of cellulite you may have or any of that crap.

oh my lordy girl, please. go wear your suit and have fun at the beach. if it makes you feel better, get the advice of a good friend. a bit of good self tanner makes you look just as better as dropping 5 does, anyway (i like the hard-to-mess-up jergens natural glow, the one you put on every day like lotion and eventually get a tan)*.

my bf and i both agree that the cute girls at the beach are the ones who don't seem to be thinking about their bodies, because they are enjoying themselves playing in the water or playing catch or sports, talking or reading with their friends instead of sunning like a centerfold or (obv) visually fretting about their rolls (real or imagined) and trying to sit so their stomach will look the flattest.

Oh yeah, and also cute are the ones with fantastic ta-tas. Sigh... a great attitude will get you so many things in life, but certain others still only come with god's permission... Have fun on vaca!!!

*sorry if you're un-pale... no profile pic, and i feel like my black/asian/latina friends never worry about swimming suits like my white/pasty white/extra pasty white friends do, especially not if they have your height/weight...

haha, so this weekend I had a family reunion and we went to this hotel that had a pool with sliding doors that went out to the parking lot.  I was playing some game with a ball with my cousins, and when the ball went out the door and into the parking lot I had to retrieve it in my suit.  A little awkward, but the point is that I'm shorter than you (5'3") weigh about the same (128), and nobody gagged at the site of me.  You're young, and you'll be wishing you could have your current body back in another 20 years.  Wear it! Wink

I'm the same height and you are right about at where my goal weight is so i would say go for it!  You may not look as thin as a model or whatnot, but in my mind thats a good thing.  The most attractive people are the ones that look HEALTHY, not the ones that look thin or obese.  Plus the less you worry about how you look and the more confidence you have the more it will make you look better, happiness and confidence really do shine through in a person.

wear it! I bought a bikini from VS and it hugs a little on the bottom but I still wear it. This may be very mean and shallow but I dont care it helps my esteem but I always think to myself that there will be some one eles on the beach in a smaller bikini and bigger than me. But really who cares your on the beach and swimming in the ocean for a couple hrs is a great workout for the day.

YESS!!! We are exactly the same height but I am about 20lbs heavier (ugh!). I have to say that I certainly wear my bikini with pride, and so should you!!

Enjoy your vacation!!
