Ever binge and discover something amazing in the process?
This weekend was something I'm not proud of. I binged like mad for about three days. But, in the process, I discovered I really love to add sugar free maple syrup and vanilla extract to my cereal. I found this out after running out of other things to eat, and having to get creative.
What about everyone else? Ever put together a really great combination by accident, especially in one of those crazy overeating modes?
(By the way, this is just for fun. I'm not condoning binging at all. In fact I'm really struggling with it lately, and I recognize how damaging it is. I just figure every cloud has a silver lining.
)
ummm yess. Haha now that I'm working past my binges, I can look back at some of the stuff and think... hmm yummm
Ex:
Cereal mix fushion (any and every cereal I had) w/ chocolate chips or any sort of chocolate candy/cookies in it--I swear it's good
cereal & pb sandwiches
oatmeal w/ hot chocolate mix and cereal
pb and oreo sandwich
yup I was obsessed w/ cereal...
god I'm actually gettin hungry readin this thread lol
The other day I NEEDED something sweet.. I was about ready to kill someone lol. I also was not in the mood for icecream (which was the only sweet in the house)
So I shoved a scoop of my choc ice cream, a splash of milk, and soem of my french vanilla creamer in my wonderful magic bullet and drank it up... mmmmmm lol
Well, as long as we're confessing, I'll add slices of bread (white or whole wheat, doesn't matter) spread with mayonnaise and sprinkled with salt. So simple, yet so strangely good.
I discovered instant oatmeal mixed with crumbled up granola bars. Banana bread oatmeal with kashi pumpkin spice flax bars are the best combination.
One thing I discovered is porridge with mincemeat stirred into it. The fat and sugar make it sort of flapjacky, but compared to a flapjack it's a perfectly reasonable breakfast.
Edit: I just thought of another. Bread (don't bother taking the crusts off!) put into a bowl, covered with sugar, milk, raisins, tahini, banana, peanut butter, whatever you have in the cupboard and microwave then stir. It's a bit like bread and butter pudding - but quick! Even though it's classic binge food, it really is nice enough to eat as a proper dessert. Surprising!
I think getting rid of the microwave might be half the problem solved, now I think of it.
Were you binging or just eating like crazy, ya know therese a diffrence, but if you were binging for three days sorry, its been about 5 days since my last bad binge, but i can say it was the first time i ate pbutter anf banana sandwhiches. i know its common but i thought i was creative at the time, it was amazing.

Trust, me I was definitely binging. Alone in my house, shoveling food into my face, not hungry, not caring what it was, just shoveling away in an effort to get some kind of emotional release or something (if you want to know the particulars.) I had never struggled with binging in the past, but now that I have recovered from being anorexic, it has become a real problem for me. I am working on it day by day, though, and I really think I'm doing better.
Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt the thread; I was just answering bobo's question.
Oatmeal with hot choc packet w/ marshmallows mixed in
Honey and PB sandwiches
Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream with Nilla Wafers crushed over top
Vanilla yogurt with a packet of cinnamon instant oatmeal mixed together until the oatmeal gets soggy and delicious
lol i'm so weird
i had an epiphany while bingeing on raisin bran. i typed it when it struck me, to make more sense of it... here is a copy:
Raisin Bran Epiphany
Have you ever poured cereal into a bowl, whether it be raisin bran, lucky charms, honey bunches of oats, or whatever, and gotten a ton of the raisins, marshmallows or honey clusters in your bowl. You think, wow, I really got it good this time.
Then, after you have anticipated how good that bowl of cereal will be, it gets thrown out of your hands by a freak accident. (Like a little brother running through the kitchen). Right when you have the milk poured in, and the spoon has been sifting through the bowl of cereal, marveling. But you have yet to taste the cereal at the bottom of the bowl.
Now it is just a bowl of cereal and milk, splattered across the floor, people stomping all over it, not noticing the mess on the floor. It wasn’t your little brothers fault, it wasn’t even your fault. Just coincidence.
But, to realize that you were gifted that moment of joy, with your bowl full of marshmallows, is just as good as never having it at all. Do not live in the past, do not regret the mistakes you have made. We all live in the present. Some of us have yet to fully understand what living in the present is. And instead of wallowing in the grief which follows the destruction of how good you thought life would be, after living in three minutes of joy, we must work to create joy from our present situation.
oh, i was also going through a life changing journey at the time.
Protein bars covered in peanut butter.... so good but GAWD, so many cals. Thank god I haven't done that in a while.
Okay i get these little tangent binges alot, but the kick that i am on right now is cream cheese and mixers...
Cinnamon and Sugar and cream cheese on apples
sugar, cream cheese and chocolate powder
apple pie spice and cream cheese and sugar
cream cheese and sugar.
I put it on everything from bread to fruit to waffles to apples to anything. The chocolate cream cheese i will usually go for just plain even strait out of the container. It is freaking amazing!!! just add 2 tsp. of sugar for every table spoon of cream cheese and enjoy till you drop!!!
special K red berry waffles with a tablespoon of peanutbutter in between and low fat syrup on top! Yum

I've done this...YUMMO!!!
I haven't had anything really weird... although I do remember having dry rice krispies mixed in a bowl with peanut butter.
Hmm..unlike you all, I don't tend to binge on sweet foods..anyway my weird combo is potato chips with cottage cheese or sour cream, crushed up and mixed together. it sounds and looks gross, but it tastes good.
I don't always binge sweet either, i once went crazy on a 1 lb bag of snyders pretzels and peanut butter. Simple but ever so satisfying.
