Binge eating problem

Quote  |  Reply

I have a problem with binge eating. I used to be bulimic and I'm not anymore but I still have the binge eating habits. They have been very challenging to break. I've gotten to the point to where if I binge I try not to swallow the food and just spit it out(I know that's gross) but I don't want to consume all of it. The messed up part is that I still do end up consuming the food and continue to gain weight. I've done a lot better about my portion sizes and am trying to chill on eating anything other than my specific diet. I don't know if anybody can help me but I would just like to have someone that I can report my progress to. This is a lifestyle change and I need all of the help that I can get.

ok,i used to be the same..even if i feel full..ill start eating! the problem is  i know i dont want to eat but still i eat like pig and cant stop!

but since feb. i said No to this bad habbit..

my best advice which i tried it and really worked for other people..even my Gp he told me it was very good idea.

simply, make green tea ..after you feel half full ..or even full ..5 min later drink  1 or 2 cup..this 1 or 2 cup will work as a block hunger pills !

read this artical and you will see what i mean..

all you need is to be strong..and keep your self busy from food..take away any food infront of your sight love..you will be fine..

sorry for my simple english dear..

cheers

Thank you very much for your advice. Have a great day :)

my advice as someone who used to have bulimia where I would eat and eat and eat all weekend and then not eat all week (until it spilled over to then) is just to eat normal meals and include a good balance of "cheat" foods EVERYDAY....unless you do that I assure you the vicious binge cycle will only continue....if your body is satisfied it natually won't want to binge....I used to LOVE binging...now even on a holiday when it seems "acceptable" to do so I'm just usually not that "into it".....as hard as it may seem now, it can be stopped though...just takes time and a bit of willpower...

Hi!!!

I was in a similar situation. Used to be bulimic, and gained massive weight after stopping the purgings. I gained about 20 pounds in less than 2 months, plus water weight. Anyway, I had to get into a residential treatment- do not wanna go there, believe me...it helped me a lot, but it was sooo expensive. Anyway, the thing that worked for me was balancing exercise and food -used to be exercise-addict also- ...just 3 times a week...2 of cardio, 1 of lifting...and 5 meals- 3 big n 2 snacks. I usually made one of my snacks unhealthy to control anxiety. I loved binging also, but I also love my body....I would suggest seing a psychiatrist and getting some pills, they help too.

The important thing is too now ur not alone. Now, after almost a year of gaining those extra 20 pounds, I am now a lil underweight! can u imagine? ...guess my ED transformed into anorexia again...anyway, u can do it...that anxiety towards food CAN GO AWAY,,,,but u need serious help! nutritionist, psycology, psychiatrist, doctors! they could help u!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

:)
