Hey everyone,so yesterday all I ate was junk- cookies, muffins, chips you name it.I added up the calories and it totalled 5000! My estimated amount burned is 1800.Oh MY GOD! 3K over.oops..but I was thinking to cleanse my system and make up for that crazy binge I could fast and only drink water and herbal tea for the today and tomorrow. Will this mess with my metabolism too much, or put me into starvation mode? I don't even feel hungry today because I ate so much yesterday, and I do want to lose weight..HELP!

if you're not hungry, then i wouldn't suggest eating. but if you are hungry, eat. don't fast. you will just binge again. i know it is easier said than done.
i agree with mikeiscool. if you starve yourself you will only get into a routine of binging and starving which is disordered eating. usually people are not very hungry the day after a binge though.
This is so me now but by the time night time rolls around, I am genuinely hungry and I give myself leave to eat and we all know what that leads to- out of control eating. I would recommend eating if you can.
Do not yo yo.  If you binge one day, the next day you eat properly, at least 1200 calories to fuel your body.

If you are consistant with giving your body enough fuel every day, it won't want to binge.  By fueling your body, you have to feed it nutruitious foods.  Your body is quite smart, it will make you consume food just so that it can get what it needs.

I learned this the hard way.  Food is fuel.
The other day I went to bed without eating supper because I was totally ticked off at my boyfriend (yes, when I'm upset I don't eat). The next day, OH MY GOSH, (actually it was yesterday), I was soooo hungry and couldn't figure out why! The only conclusion that I could come up with was that I skipped a meal and my body got mad at me :-/ So I will be sure NOT to do that again!

Stop Eating

Thanks guys

The binge/ fast thing wasnt happening, so I just ate healthy that day, and didn't even feel the need to binge. And pfiruta, seriously not cool.

Spoiled candy,

You are SO right!!

I developed a binge problem because of the gym/working out. I got really into exercise, on top of my already active life. I was bingeing every four days or so. I never increased my calories though my body was working really hard. It took me nearly three months (and help from this board) to figure out what was going on.

I am amazed how smart you body really is. It will make you consume what it needs. The trick is to daily eat what your body "needs". My binge is controled, as long as I get in the food needed for the amount my body is working.
