The Binge-Free Challenge
Join me in this fight to finally put an end to our binging. Time after time I've told myself "okay this is the last time" and I've failed over and over...but seriously this is enough! It's time to be good to ourselves and treat our bodies right.
You can join anytime. And don't be afraid to restart. We all have been there (probably more times than we would like to admit) Just wipe the dust off and try again.
There isn't just one winner in this. We are all winners for taking steps forward to a healthier life. Slip-ups are common when we are learning about our bodies. Try and find out why you are binging and work hard on it because you do deserve to stop this (don't listen to those negative thoughts). Laugh, learn and breathe. We can get through this. We have the whole rest of our lives to enjoy and kick this bad habit/cycle out of our lives for good.

I love freezer pops! especially popcicles with cream inside! yum! I hope everyone is having a good monday! Mondays can be hard. Actually all days can be but congratulations to us standing up and fighting the good fight!
On day 4...going well so far..*crosses fingers*
Goodluck to all and to all a goodnight
How's everyone doing? I got really close to binging last night on all-bran crackers but luckily I was able to stop myself! whew! close! Welp got to get ready for work aka chug some coffee
okay, so i've been super sick (oh post-concussive syndrome, how i loathe thee) for the past two days, so i'm not certain my not-binging is anything to be congratulated on, since i've actually been too nauseous to get anywhere near even the BOTTOM of my calorie range. but, on the bright side, it definitely kicked me out of the potentially dangerous binging cycle i could have found myself in.
hope everyone else is doing well!!
crap! ![]()
Hey runningbuns! (<- love the user name, btw
). I'd love to join in on this group! I've been binge free since 11.17.08 ... so yesterday, but! I'm joining this group as incentive to FOLLOW THROUGH with continuous binge free days! I hope you're continuing to be successful w/your eating! And best of luck to the fellow ex - bingers. We can do this!
~ kathryn - leigh
Thanks! Welcome to the challenge Kathryn-Leigh! I wish you much success in this journey!!
I'm back on my feet again and ready to fight! No more binging...its never worth it. ![]()
Great to have you join us, Kathryn-Leigh. I am so enjoying this support group. It feels like a "sisterhood" and everyone is encouraging and forgiving and very supportive! The accountability does help, at least it is helping me. I hope you find it to be just what you need. Have an awesome day that is binge-free!
kathryn-leigh: Welcome!
Everyone: Good luck (I think looking at it as "luck" maybe isn't helpful, actually, kinda implies this is totally outside our control ... Good hard work!!)
Now I've got one day (nearly two) under the belt I should find it easier to carry on. Bet I've jinxed myself saying that, haha.
I want in on this, if possible! Binging is my downfall :(
I have been sick for the past week, and eating too much hasn't really been an issue, so my start date is 11-19-08 (6 days, woohoo!) Hopefully my getting over the flu won't trigger a return to binging.
We CAN do this!
Of course your in amiewin! I'm sorry that you had the flu but good that your over it now and gonna get over binging too! Hope you are having a good day!
I'd love to join! When I'm on track it only takes a binge to totally throw me off kilter. I've been a binger since elementary school, now that I think back. I'm really trying to pay attention to what makes me want to binge and how to stay strong and not give in.
binge-free as of Nov. 18th!
Welcome Laura..congrats for choosing to take control of your health!

"I just hope you all have a good day and make it through without any over-indulging. We are definitely a "sisterhood" in this whole challenge. It is so good to have everyone's support, isn't it? So let's just remember not to give up or get discouraged no matter what. Today is a new day no matter how many days out each of us is with our binge free status! Have a good one.
Recipe she shared that sounds yummy:
"Yoplait fat free yogurt is absolutely delicious, mmmmmm! I would reccomend it. I am trying some new things to satisfy my sweet tooth. I have bought s/f pie filling with splenda added, such as apple and cherry. I divided the can into 3 servings which equals 80 cal. each. I mix in 1 yoplait. I used very vanilla flavor last night. Fat free of course. Then I sprinkle 1-2 Tablespoons of grahmn cracker crumbs over that. It is very desert like, and filling. Yum!! The gr. crumbs have about 25 cal. a T."
Welcome to both of you, Laura and Amiewin! You are going to love this group. There is so much encouragement here, and lots of compassion and forgiveness when/if we mess up for a moment. Tomorrow is always a new day, thank God!!! Runningbuns is a fierceless amazing leader....you are going to love her, she is cool.
So best wishes on your entry into binge free accountability. It helps, really!
Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm definitely looking forward getting/giving the extra support!
Well I don't know about the whole fierceless leader thing
haha. But I'll take it.
How's everyone doing? It's almost the weekend so all you working gals...stay in there...and same with anyone who is in school. I can't wait to sleep in saturday even if it is just until 8 or 9am.
I love this quote: "tomorrow doesn't care about what today's food tastes like"
Another one: "Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the face"- Helen Keller
I hope everyone has a good day!
Had two good days then binged more than once today. I find it really hard to think of reasons not to sometimes - could anyone help with that? Anyway, 21/11 is my new start date, but I don't have a lot of faith in my own willpower, TBH.
runningbuns: I feel for you having to update everyone's binge-free things all the time. We should all use that as an extra incentive not to binge (answering my own Q!) ...
yay! almost one whole week for me
you guys are doing great.. even if you slip, don't give up.. ever!
i've been really cleaning up my eating lately.. i made a plan that i've stuck by for the past two days and i feel amazing.
here it is:
diet:
[ ] fat: 45g or less
[ ] cholesterol: 200mg or less
[ ] sodium: 1900mg or less
[ ] carbs: 200g or less
[ ] sugars: 80g or less
[ ] fiber: 35g or more
[ ] protein: 50g or more
[ ] water: 32oz or more
exercise:
[ ] cardio: 30min or more
[ ] strength training: 15min or more
[ ] flexibility: 10min or more
mind you this is based on what i usually eat.. like my goals. for example, i'm kind of a carb junkie so saying 200g or less doesn't set me up for failure haha. but after a while i switch up the numbers if i notice they're not a challenge anymore. everyday i check off which goals i've met and plan out my menu for the next day.
you guys should try it out!
Congrats on nearing the week marker ohohcherri! amazing job. Your plan looks good. One thing I am trying to improve is my protein. I try to get atleast 65-75 grams but its hard to do somedays.
todaywastomorrow: yes! no one better make me change any more dates! haha just kidding. If I said that, I would probably be the first to fall on my face!
One important thing to remind yourself is to think of your health first and not necessarily about weight loss. Weight loss is neat and all but we need to get our health, mind, and bodies in check first.
Tomorrow is friday! ![]()
hey guys! i'm still binge-free, thank goodness. just wanted to say to those looking to add protein- if you're not completely turned off by greek yogurt, give it a try. some have up to 14g protein in a 140 calorie serving, and they're super yummy. i got 65g protein today and i'm a vegetarian, so these are clearly a lifesaver!
On day 5, last night, I gave into another bread and butter binge, so I am back to day 1 today in the binge free challenge. Soooo sad and so unnecessary but also over with. Today is a new day. I am going to do all my exercise and eat right for me today. I think I am noticing a trend....(duh....) I maybe should allow myself more calories every fifth day or so. Better to plan some extra calories to work with, than get frustrated, and binge. Binges seem to add 1000 to 1500 calories to my day when I do it. Wouldn't it be far better to allow myself a treat day of an extra 500 once a week? What do you guys think? All I know is I sure can't be perfect at this.....![]()
Hope everyone has a great day today and weekend too!
