Hi all--

So, I've been doing pretty well with my calories and such during the week, but the last couple weeks I've had one bad day.

Last week Friday I had margaritas and a few beers and then this friday I had 4 glasses of wine!!! and quite a bit of brie cheese. The rest of the week I do great at calories.

This past week I only lost 1.5 lbs-- is this bc of my binge day or my 1000 calories a day the rest of the week?

Can 1 bad day wreck a week/diet?

thanks!

You lost only 1.5 pounds?  That is amazing!  For a diet to truly stick the experts suggest that you only loose between 0.5-2 pounds/week.  Sounds like you are doing great.  I too have a binge day once in a while and today was the day.  Once I came home from work I decided to get back on track and write everything in my journal for tomorrow...food and exercise.  So now I am looking at my day for tomorrow and that really motivates me and helps to put me on track.  For my 25 minutes of circuit training and 30 minutes of running I am burning around 500 calories.  Now the fun part is finding what other food I can eat so that I can get to 1200 calories (at least) for the day.

Whoa....I just reread your post.....stop eating so few calories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You are putting your body in to starvation mode.  The key number for women to NEVER EVER go below is 1200 cals/day.  This is to necessitate basic body functions.  I would have to say you need to up your caloric intake to more healthy amounts.  Unless you are a really, really little person, there is no way that that is enough food to power you and your brain and your internal organs through the day.  You should really look through other forums on this site regarding starvation levels and eating appropriate amounts of food and eating balanced every day.  Take care of your  body and it will take care of you.

Thanks for the encouragement! I guess I just want to see fast results. I'll probably have to work on getting 200 more calories or so... I kind of knew that that was bad-- but if i'm dieting i feel guilty eating much.

It's too bad you had a binge day too--- but it sounds like you have a great idea with the journal and planning things out. and you def get good exercise! I'm not much of a runner-- but maybe i'll try to start.

Again, thanks for the support and replying!

I have a question to your recent reply.  According to my weight and height, I am supposed to only about 1050 calories a day.  I am 147 and need to be at least 119 to 120 according to my doctor.  I can I do a 1200 calorie diet when it states I need to stick to a 1050?  I was at least going to start at 1300 to be safe.
1200 is actually healthier than 1050, it will make you lose the weight a little slower but it will probably stay off cos you are doing it at a good pace.
