I have been keep my calories intake below 1500 for two weeks. Today, for the first time, I feel this unexplainable hunger. I have eaten 5 apples, drunken 5 bottles of water, one healthy choice lunch (chicken with vegetable.. like 250 calories), 2 cereal bar (the oatmeal kind that's like 100 calories each). I am still hungry. like really hungry. I can't possibilily eat another appple. help :( what should I do?
I am five feet 4 and half and 130lbs. I am within the healthy range, but I eat A LOT of junk food before joining this site. I am trying to eat healthy, but I am starting to run out of steam...
Maybe because all the apples and veggies you ate digested really quickly, leaving you hungry anyway. Perhaps instead of 3 of the apples, eat a source of protein instead to last longer?
^yeah, & make sure you're eating some fat too! I don't know what healthy choices are like, but they sound healthy! ;)
It sounds to me like there are a few things going on here.
I think #1 is satisfaction. Eating healthy means having a healthy relationship with food, not just eating the 4 food groups. If you've been having a craving that you're denying in the name of "health food," it might be manifesting in overeating of foods that aren't satisfying you... hence your eating more of them... because you aren't satisfied... ad nauseum.
#2 you might be really hungry. Consider eating maintenance or just under your calories burned for a while (or forever). Even if you eat just a little bit under you'll still lose weight & your body will mellow out since it knows you're going to get enough to eat.
Try to figure out what you want your life to look like. Will you be happy only eating 1300 calories a day of apples, healthy choice and oatmeal bars? Yes? Great! No? Maybe you'd be happier eating 1500 calories / day of a variety of foods, even those that aren't "health food." It's all about quality of life. People are happy with different things. You don't have to be a "health nut" or "on a diet" to be healthy.

maybe have a sandwich! I eat this sometimes when am really hungry! Its okay to eat...all the fruit sometimes makes you more hungry because of the sugars...try looking for recipes online and try other foods...you should try all the food pyramid and if you dont know what that is..look for it online..I have a copy on my fridge and remind myself to eat along the guidelines of it..meat is okay and other stuff..try lean cuts or organic products for the best choice and some cake does not hurt sometimes...because theres alot of choices out there for healthy meals..good luck!
Eat a proper meal! You aren't eating enough. That is why you are hungry.
Eating so little is NOT eating healthy so if that is your goal you aren't reaching it.
Why are you aiming for less than 1500 cals? 1500 is probably the minimum you should eat at your height.
