I used to have a huuge binge/starve type thing going on where I'd binge then I'd undereat severely to cancel that binge out. I'm finally just eating maintaining calories and i no longer have the urge to binge and i stop eating when i'm satisfied! :D I'm proud!

How did you do it? I have that problem now and it's just killing me :(
Congratulations!

Hi all...I am very moved by your stories! I work for a nationally syndicated morning show in NYC and we are looking to do a story next Tuesday about binge eating. We will be providing our guest with expert advice, as well as an expense paid trip to New York. Please email Obs28@aol.com if you are interested in sharing your story. Thank you so much for your time!

isn't it an awesome feeling?  I just relapsed sunday night but I'm glad to be back up and standing on my feet again! :-) Great job keep up the good work
give me your secret!!!!!
yea, please tell how =\

how the heck did u DO it?

please do tell, i suffer from the same problem. during the week starve weekends binge! it's ruining my life...

i believe your stomach has already shrunk--literally! :)

i have read hundreds od articles saying that our stomachs really expand or shrink depending on how much we eat.

if we eat like pigs (sorry), chances are our stomachs will be forced to stretch to hold all the food we eat, even the excess ones.

but if we just eat enough food, we keep our stomach's size--and our apetite--in check :)

I am not sure what the "solution" to the OP's binge-eating was... not very clear to me, but from the very little she said, it seems as if eating a maintenance amount of calories cured her binge-eating which makes sense to me, since I found the same solution. Binge-eating has many causes, but for me I think one of the major problems was that when you try to eat a lot less/semi-starve yourself, you start going crazy... and then all you think about is food. You lose control and start binge-eating. My solution is that I can't let myself be such a perfectionalist. When I need to eat, I need to eat.

how did you stop the cycle?

Look, I've been on a diet for 4 months and I've dropped 44lbs (not that I really needed to, I've never been fat). After the third month I started binging every monday so I went to the doctor cuz I was worried about my health. She told me to stop counting calories and listen to my body. It was very difficult at first, cuz I was really obssessed with counting calories but I deleted from my iPhone the program I was using to do it and finally got it. Now I don't count calories but I'm very aware of what I eat; I keep telling myself I eat what I want (and I really think I do) and my body in response doesn't make me binge. I haven't gained any pound since I stopped counting calories and I'm very happy with my body (perhaps a little skinny but that's the way I like it). I think the secret to this is not to deprive your body of anything; when you crave for food is when you binge. By the way, I don't know if it's got something to do but I've been a vegetarian also for the last couple of months :)

Okay I can help you if you're still having this problem. Please email me and we can do it together.. I was a binger too. I jjust fixed it, but in a very drastic way. If you go to my profile, you'll find a link to my blog, where I document all the **** and progress..

If you're feeling helpless, you are so sosososos not alone.

Let me know. :)

One Love.
