1 plate full of salad and veggies.
2 cups of pasta.
2 cups of rice
2 brownie squares
1 small square of some bread
1 large oatmeal raisin cookie
1 WHOLE WHEAT ROUND LOAF (I actually ate the bread in the span of some hours...so I don't know if it constitues as being part of the binge or not.)
Notice how I started out good, but kinda fell off the wagon later...=(
My calorie estimate on here is 2680.
My question is...Will I gain weight even though I have a calorie deficit after my binge?
definitely not...

Where are the fruits and protein?
It was binge eating, I doubt fruits and protein were on their mind. :/
OK this is really really bad!
All your posters said NO...
They are indeed wrong.
1st of all you need to think of it like this.
How does our body work? Why did you binge? Why did you do that? There is reason. And now, what is the reaction.... and how can I win with my goal?
1. WHY DID YOU BINGE? - your body asked you to binge. The body and mind are 2 seperate catagories... you want something. To loose weight. Your body wants something. To survive. It does not know you have a plethera of food on every single corner of every single block... your mind does. SO you need to control your BODY with your MIND.
2. WHY DID YOU DO THAT... you as in the mind... we are tought to survive... The quickest form of energy that turns STAIGHT INTO energy is a carb. Your body was asking for gas. If you look at what you ate - every single item was a carb. Even veggies... Again like point one - your body is just trying to survive...
3. NOW THE REACTION: You body decided to have a BINGE. Which then every calorie over (around 400 calories) will turn DIRECTLY into fat.
THE BAD NEWS: this will create celulite, bad ugly fat storages (you have seen pretty fat people where everything is porportional... this is from constant over eating, not binging) then you have seen the ugly fat storage (this is the fat that collects PURELY in 1 or 2 places) BUTT, POOCH, ARMS, & dont forget the skin tone and celulite issues from this etc and then other areas are skinny... VERY UGLY and caused from the BODY STORING FAT QUICKLY... from a binge. (drinking, eating, anything)
So will you gain weight from the binge? YES INSTANTLY! its the bodys refigerator... you now have a frige on your ass! That is what it is used for!
THE GOOD NEWS: this fat can be used quickly within the next few days before it because FAT MEMORY... before your body accepts it as a part of the team to stay... and put it away for last reserves. Kind of like frozen left overs.
So you can work it off today with a run, and then eat lightly... BUT ONLY IF YOU KNOW TOMORROW you can bring your body back to an equalibrim and not binge again because you will be hungry from using up fat!
BY THE WAY: THE UNCOMFORTABLE FEELING OF HUNGER all it is, is the feeling of FAT be removed.
OK HONEY, that was a lot of info!
Hope if goes well!
Binging does NOT turn directly to fat. Calories are calories, no matter when or in what quantity you eat them or how frantically you shovel them in. I am very active, have a high metabolism, and am trying to gain weight, so I often eat massive quantities of food in one sitting by choice, and I don't have ANY cellulite. There are plenty of bingers who don't have cellulite, I assure you. Don't get me wrong, ALL excess calories will be stored as fat unless you work out and thus turn them into muscle, but all this about it going straight to your arms and butt and thighs as cellulite is simply not true. ESPECIALLY if this is just a one-time slip up and you get back on the wagon after this. It is consistent overeating and an unhealthy lifestyle that promotes obesity and cellulite, not the occasional carb-fest.
Don't feel bad, everyone has days like this. I'm sure you'll make healthier choices in the future.
Minishush Bunk isn't even the word for the advise you just gave, I would go more for the biggest load of **** iv'e ever heard!
Bloody hell talking about making someone who has just binged feel awful!!! That's ridiculous. if that was the case then every person would be fat!
i completely agree with everyone, minishush...in fact in most binge eating cases it is mental thing ie mind, not body, you eat because your upset, bored ect, for emotional reasons. the whole 400 cals and your body turns it into fat is ridiculous, seriously, where do you get this sort of warped information from...?
j1001n, if your below your deficit still then your still losing weight, no matter if you binge ate or not, so don't even worry. as long as your below your deficit you'll lose weight, and as dearymetalsinks also pointed out, it'll no doubt cause your metabolism to rise a little bit!

i have come to the conclusion that you are:
a idiotic psychopath.
to the OP. if you still have a a deficit, you will not gain. in fact you will lose.
sunkissed:weren't you anorexic?
SHEESH! That one post kind of frightened me! While I'm not going to attack you minishush, I'm sorry to say while you may trying to be helpful....your post is just well, haha yea pretty much wrong in every pt! And if it has anything to do w/ your profile pic, I don't take advice health/fitness advice from runway models! Sorry!
Don't worry a/b the overeating girl! I've DEF had my share of pigouts...the most important thing which a lot of people have mentioned is yes, the bingeing is def something that is in your mind and SHOULD be dealt w/. Is there any way you could see a counselor? I've struggled w/ depression and overreating was DEF a cope-but I had a counselor and nutritionist built into one, and it was SO much help. But if you're worried completely mathematically and weight wise? PROMISE YOU-don't sweat it. Just last week I had a MAJOR pig out at work-we basically ate every pasta salad in the restaurant...and I'm sure I racked up twice my calorie limit, the next day I felt crappy but if anything I had a jolt in my metabolish. Just had to make you feel better after that Scary post! haha
What scared ME the most about minishush's post is "hunger is fat being used!"
Um, no. Hunger is YOUR BODY ASKING TO BE FED.
When people binge/overeat, it's not usually because they're truly hungry. REAL HUNGER is your body's demand for fuel.

I think what minishush meant to say is, it might be converted to fat temporarily, but since you have a calorie deficit, your body will use it up quickly and there'll be no net weight gain.
no shes not. she actually thinks if you eat more than 400 you will gain. go look at her journal.
gah with the pro-ana.
