Welcome to BA. My name is Nicole and I'm a binger.
i decided that it could be helpful to have a forum for those of us trying to recover from this evil thing called binge eating disorder (BED). Whenever you have success... post here! Whenever you have struggles... post here! need support to stay out of the cookie jar?.... post here!
i'll be posting my intake of calories everyday in hopes that showing all of you what i eat will keep me from OVER EATING.
anyone with the same struggles??

Wow, every word you said could have came straight out of my mouth.
Being a binger, I've found that if you eat light duing the day, you feel like you've 'earned' your binge in a way, so try to start eating a little bit more during the day.

ayayay thanks alot united2gether! lol i know i got jealous about some ppl >_< lol it always happened (for example my brother who has the same advabtage of eating without gaining ) :) but yea, i'm trying hard to get back in tracj every single day, and right now, i finally enjoy myself going to the gym! my bf n i both want to achieve a goal (me: lose weight, him: get back in his previous shape) so we usually go to the gym together (usually at night). i realized that this gym routine somehow REDUCE my appetite to binge n stuff. I am still on my way to eat totally healthy but i know i feel better and more fit after the cardio thing. And yea, i sometime still binge, but i got reminded that its so hard to burn 300 calories in an eliptical or a thread mill, so i kind of limit myself.
And for smelko, i feel you! i was suffering from eating disorder all my life since i was 13! i started as a fat kid (i came from a country in which almost everyone is skinny). and its so hard, i got anorexic, i tried laxatives, i use traditional diet pills, usual diet pills, i still BINGE but on different stuff (for example: aples or mangoes) but i know its still not good, cuz i couldnt control my willingness to eat until i feel uncomfortably full. i cried in the bathroom n my room everytime i feel frustated (almost every other night) So, it was pretty bad.
But i think SUPPORT from other ppl around us helped me alot. And if u're religious, meditation and prayers definitely calm u down n makes u better
i still struggling myself! let's keep in touch and see how it all works out :)

uh oh i forget to share this one tips. Do not work out too much if you just started (i learned it from my psych class, the way to build habit n stuff). I used to do 50 min elliptical n get so sick until i dont wanna go to the gym again afterwards, but now, i started with 30 min n it helped me. i felt fresh n healthy. on the other hand, i tried to add the load of work (after 4 or 5 days doing the simple 30 min routine) by changing the stride n stuff. I also learned that having someone to support u helps alot (most of the time someone that could go with u too). I hope we all will suceed in fighting this crazy habit!
p.s. the reason why i like the evening is becoz its not as crowded (i attend 24 hr fitness so sumtime i went there at 1 or 2 in the morning--i sleep t 10ish, go to the gym, n sleep again).

I saw this article on controlling binges and thought some of you might be interested in it. Happy Reading.
hi
hi, i'm Daisy rose and i'm so glad i found you guys! I have a terrible problem of binging and its causing me to gain weight. Its really hard to fight, when i come home around 4:00 or 5:00 the first thing i want to do is pig out on chocolate, chips, ice cream, just food, pretzels ghram crackers u get the idea, and i need a lot of help to stay on track and even more help when i mess up. I'm going to start working out about four times a day, running for 45 mintues and lifting weights. Does this sound okay? Am i off to a good start.
hi everyone! I've been stuck in a depressing hurricane of binging for two months straight. I've just been to beat to come here and face my problem.
I'm still binging, but I've slowly retreated from the chips and the chocolate, and gone for the fruits. Eating 20 oranges, although not the healthiest thing one can do is definitely better than eating 4 bars of chocolate, regardless of the calories.
I hope I can really pull myself together during the winter holidays.
Best of luck to you guyz too!

this means so much guys. i am so excited and happy to see i can get support for my binging. (i am not, however happy to see that so many people suffer from the problem that i am faced with as well...its quite distressing actually.) early '06, probably feb. my doctor told me i was slightly overweight. i freaked out, lost about 5 lbs, felt great. except then, something happened (i cant remember now) and i gained back about 7 lbs. and that made me freak out even more. and now, about 15 lbs later, i am completely upset and a complete binger. over the summer i started starving myself to lose weight. and of course it worked out at first, and then i just gained it back. and keep gaining more. at this point in my life, i started seeing a therapist to help me. except, i havent told my therapist yet that i am a binger. whoops. also, i am almost afraid to eat at ALL because i feel like if i start eating i wont be able to stop.
so i guess thats the shorthand version.
any advice?
thanks to all and good luck to EVERYONE.

Well, I got back to the gym today and getting back to my water, and logging my activity and food the best I can. For the most part, the holiday foods are gone by so they aren't in my face to tempt me anymore. I told myself that for the holidays my main goal was just to maintain my weight and that if I lost anything, I'd be happy but not expect it. Maintaining is hard enough with all the seasonal delights around! When I get my scale back, then I'll see if I was able to do o.k. without keeping daily tabs on myself.
How did the rest of you do through the holidays so far? One more to go - New Years - then we won't have the delicious holiday foods tempting us for another year. Hang in there. We're almost through the other side!!

Hey everyone, just wanted to check in. I struggled a little a few weeks ago. I was eating all healthy organic foods, but I realized after a few nights I was still binging. It wasn't the nachos or pizza like 3 months ago, but the intention was there. It's such a struggle. I have lost about 12 pounds since I stopped with the big binges. When I realized my habit was coming back I reeled it back in. I just love that full feeling and I love crunching on foods. Anyways, I hope you are all doing well. It's just a constant battle and I don't think you can ever turn your back on it!!
