Welcome to BA. My name is Nicole and I'm a binger.
i decided that it could be helpful to have a forum for those of us trying to recover from this evil thing called binge eating disorder (BED). Whenever you have success... post here! Whenever you have struggles... post here! need support to stay out of the cookie jar?.... post here!
i'll be posting my intake of calories everyday in hopes that showing all of you what i eat will keep me from OVER EATING.
anyone with the same struggles??

Guys, we're doing great, and I'm glad we started this thread!!!
jenne I totally understand the incredible urge to binge. When you "know" you're going to. I hate the people who say you can wait it out. It's not like a craving. If I'm craving something, I can wait it out. Just a half-hour, and I'll be fine.
But a binge? A binge isn't a waiting game. A binge is a supressed urge. A binge makes you feel completely out of control.
But WE are in control of our binges! Or at least we will learn to be!!
I really like the idea of writing down in this thread what we binge on if we do. Then I can't pretend like I never did it!!!
Thanks for being here, guys. :)

So, I think I just warded off a binge. I just opened some soy flax seed chips and light sour cream. I had every intention of just doing 7 chips and 2 tbsp of s/c. Yea just had 3 oz of chips and probably 1/2 cup of sour cream. Now I'm starving and I want to go tear my kitchen apart. I'm already at 1586 cal. I went out with a pregnant friend and all she wanted to do was eat. So I blew through my cal because we were out. I guess I could steam some vegies and not blow it. I have this great chicken, beans, and rice that I would love to have, but I know it would put me over 2000 for the day. I wish I didn't have to think like this. I wish I was one of those people who could just eat and not analyze everything!!
Oh and just so you all know, those chips are healthy to me. I just don't have any crap around. I don't want to sound like one of those people who's all, I had an apple AND an orange, now I'm fat!
hello all...
*crawls in raggedly, her self-esteem in tatters*
It's been a rough week. I've been bogged down with trying to finish my national merit essay and application, and all this homework, and so I've been running on 3 hours of sleep a night and a great heaping of stress.
I've eaten uncontrollably, nonstop, because I just have no energy and am constantly hungry, but also because I'm really stressed out.
Hopefully, hopefully, hopefully, I can get back on track tomorrow after a week of straight binging.

You can do it xura! Stress and lack of sleep is the WORST combination when it comes to food management for me. Sucks...
rdlm...it sounds like you did a good job!! That's not bad at all.
I had some extra chocolate after dinner last night, and almost went into binge mode. I maintained a deficit, though...and ended up throwing out all my chocolate bars because I was sick of binging. If I want chocolate, I should buy good chocolate. And I've made a pact to eat more veggies instead of sweets.

OK, I WON'T binge today! If someone want to check on me, it would be appreciated! My goal is to not binge for 1 week... 7 days to go...
Hi guys, I don't know if it's too late to join this forum but my name is Michelle and I have been a binger since I was 5.
I read a lot of everybody's statements and I'm happy that I came across this forum because it's honest and open. Let me say that I binge the most when I PMS... I don't know if all you ladies can relate where I'm coming from, but damn it's like nothing can fill me up unless its fatning.
Today is a new day... still pmsing but will try not to binge. 5 years ago I was 260lbs and went down to 183lbs before I had my surgery last year. Ever since then I am back up to 210lbs and having a hell of a time trying to stop the attacks and to lose my weight. I would love to be 170lbs but it feels impossible sometimes. But one way or another I'm going to try to succeed...
Thanks for reading this... I will be back daily as well.

Last night my stomach was growling all night. It was weird because I did eat and shouldn't have been. It's like your body will do things to make it hard to follow your plan. I just stayed on the computer all night. It worked. No binge!! Tonight I have to go out to dinner to a restaurant that does huge portions. I hope I can find something healthy without drawing to much attention to myself.
Lizzlebizzle. good job on throwing the chocholate out. That takes so much strength. You should be really proud of yourself.Do you like fruit? It may help more with the sweet craving than veggis
Vive. You can do it. I know it's hard, but just take it 1 day at a time. Just say, I won't binge today!
ms-m33, it's never to late hop on in!! I get really bad with PMS too. Just know you will probably eat more, but try to make better choices. And if you do buy junk stuff, buy small packages and eat slow!!
Good Luck ladies. I will not binge today!! How about all of you?

i've gone over my limit for the past 3 days, so i am with you all today. i will not binge & eat only healthy.
liz - congrats on throwing out the chocolate. that was strong on your part.
ms_m33 - welcome. lets all stay on this ride together. pms'ing was hard for me, but i'm done with that now. though i can surly understand those feelings, i used to want to eat everything!
rdlm - try a big salad along with a small appetizer. that works for me. or split a main dish with a buddy, along with a salad.
okay ladies, lets hold hands, be strong, be healthy, and take it one day at a time. NO binging today.

My name is Charlie and I'm a binge eater. Stress, boredom you name it - it's all a reason to eat, mindlessly. My worst enemies are soda pop and chips. I'm on my way to loosing 87 pounds with the first 4 gone this week. This site is awesome! Its a real eye opener to SEE what I'm doing to myself with absoutely NO WORK other than logging food and activities.
I find water helps as does brushing my teeth. (who wants to eat with that toothpaste taste still in your mouth?) Meals aren't a big issue, though they do need to get healthier, it's the dead time at work that is killing me (literally).

Binge alert. Just ate wayyyy too much chocolate and crisps... may be to do with boyfriend problems... I was having such a good week too! All let down by Friday. I WILL be better tomorrow and I WONT go back to the kitchen tonight.
I wonder where Tinytot went. She started all this. I hopr she comes back!
You know I actually can't eat raw veggis. It gives me horrible stomach pains. But I'll was thinking maybe fish or a bowl of soup. Problem with this place is they put huge plates of anti-pesto in front of you and then you get salad, shrimp cocktail, your meal and then dessert. for like 20 dollars. I'm hoping they have ala-carte. But my family will be asking why. It's like can't I just not want to eat 4000 cal in one sitting and not have to explain it?
Welcome Charlie. Glad to have you the more of us the better!! It's interesting how we all have are different times and triggers. Like yours is at work, where I will only eat alone. I actually will starve all day so I can go home and stuff my face in peace and quiet in front of the T.V. Brushing teeth is deffinatly a good idea. I also chew orbitz bubble gum flavored gum. It gives the sweetness and keeps my jaw moving.
Hey United thanks for all the inspiration. I really can get behind the not hurting ourselves with food. I feel the same way. I also just want to feel good when I look in the mirror. I've put on 20 lbs from my lightest point and I know it's all from binging. I eat fine the rest of the time. All high fiber healthy stuff. I actually don't buy crap unless I'm gonna binge. Then I eat all in one sitting so I won't have it in the house, because the next day I'm going to be good...Sometimes I just feel so twisted. I also really like how you do controlled eating. I used to do that and I kinda forgot. Thanks for the reminder!!
Zeppelin, don't be too hard on yourself. That was me last night. I just stayed on my computer all night. I think what's important is for us not to throw our hands up in the air and say "well screw it, I already did it, might as well have more." I know for me I'm such a all or nothing person. I'm either super healthy or just sucking down the Hostess and Ice Cream and mexican food. I hope we all get to a place someday where we actually forget we are being bad and can enjoy our food again.
Hope everyones doing well. I'll report after the dinner what I did. If I'm thinking of of you ladies, I hope I'll be strong and not shove my face in the bread basket!!

I just read that article. I forgot that purging can go along with binging. I will be honest, I have tried that, but I have no gag reflex and just ended up with a sore throat. I just want everyone to know, if you need to talk about that part, this place needs to be safe and I will never judge anyone. I think we are getting a good group of women here and I feel comfortable. I hope you all do to.
Started with the jelly bellys - then a few rolos..... Damn this day. BUT I'm back in control now (and FULLLLL of water lol!) A good 600 empty, wasted calories I now have to log. But I'm just getting started and I AM learning, and I WILL win this war.
Thanks for the welcome rdlm1000. My at work time IS alone time unless a customer is here. And worse it's a very small shop located INSIDE a grocery store. Soooo I smell that bakery and the deli all day. BUT I'm stronger than that. And my life is worth more than food. Food is fuel. Nothing more. It has no control over me. I am in control (for now, again)
Thanks all, for a safe place to fall. :-)

Hi fellow binge eaters, my name is Kim and I am a binge eater also.
I was binge free for 3 days but food got the best of me. I've been on a diet since June, my goal is to bring my weight to about 105-110lb. So far, since June, I've lost about 10 pounds and I've got about 10 more to go. These last 10 pounds have been extremely difficult for me and I have yet to lose a pound or two since the beginning of August. For many reasons, the big one being binge eating and the second being school. Having school for 7-8 hours of my day makes it hard for me to eat the proper foods when I need to. I bring my lunch everyday, but I can't just eat turkey sandwiches daily.
I'm on the cross country team so fortunately I haven't gained any weight. But I haven't lost any either, and that's my ultimate goal. Practices suck the energy out of me and when I come home around 5, my stomach is empty and I'm starving. This is why I started to binge eat. Everyday I binged ate and everyday I said to myself, tomorrow will be different. Tomorrow you'll stick to your diet for sure. Tomorrow will come, and tomorrow I did the same thing as yesterday. It gets a little old and frustrating.
I've been reading through your replies for a week or so, comtemplating whether or not I should post my own. I finally decided to after I just ate a whole bunch of unhealthy foods. I honestly feel sick. I need to gain my self control back. I lost it and I don't know where to find it.

Okay United, have you been in my car with me? See i actually just order 2 sodas so they think I'm picking it up for me and another person. Or I'll say "Wait did he say beef or chicken? Hmm oh I guess just get both, he'll eat them" My fast food place actually never has the cookies cooked, so I have actually asked for the balls of dough and baked them in my toaster oven. When I binge I always have to have a balance of sweet and salty. Actually a few weeks ago my man and I got in a fight and I went to the store after I had been crying so my eyes were all red. I bought a 1lb bag of skittles, 5 hostess treats (on sale) 2 pints of ice cream (also on sale), the checkout guy was like "humm, having a junkfood night?" He was looking at me all knowingly. He thought I was stoned!!! I just made myself look more stoned and said "yea it's all on sale" I wanted to die. Oh my gosh, a couple of years ago, the manager of my Taco Bell actually got me a velvet heart candy from See's because I was such a good customer!! He was married. It wasn't romantic. It actually was probably because he felt sorry for me eating taco bell 5 nights a week!!
Hey kim, good to have you. The one thing I think is interesting about binging is it doesn't matter what size you are and doesn't mean your fat. I mean your an athlete and most people probably don't know your secret! Anyways welcome
Hey charlie, be proud that you are actually logging those calories. A lot of us don't. When I binge, I tend to not write any of it down!!Good job. I try to use the Food is fuel mantra too. It's a good one!
