ok, so im finally gettin my weight down in the right direction, having "skinny" days if thats what you want to call them!! but the last 2 days ive had stupid night binges!! i know i shudnt even when i was, i didnt even want or crave what i was eatin i just had it for the sake of it, and i know its gonna mess my week up now and knock me back!!!
im so annoyed
Hi, I have the same problem. I follow calories fine throughout the day, I make sure that I get my protein in each meal but, then I wake up from a sound sleep late nights around 3AM or so, look out! I binge like crazy. I've mentioned this to my MD, and no response...
Dont bet yourself up about it 2 days probably wont do any harm.
but i do understand where you are coming from i have the attitude of once i have had a "bad food" i think i might aswell eat anything i was cuz i have messed up today.....and then i try to eat everything i can for that day because i know i cant have it the next day when eating healthy again!
Just keep thinking to yourself a treat wont hurt.
I can eat again soon.
I dont need to eat it all today.
hope that helped a bit....good luck
!
Make sure you're allowing yourself the right number of calories for your size, age and level of activity. The biggest reason for bingeing is 'lack of energy'.... so it's important to make good food choices (wholefoods, high-fibre foods, vegetables etc.), space your food out evenly throughout the day and eat enough in total. You may find that a planned light snack before bedtime helps prevent large unplanned snacks...
You've mentioned in the past that you sleep poorly ..... being tired can lead to bingeing. A natural response to fatigue is to look for a quick energy-boost - usually in the form of sugary/starchy/fatty foods. Is sleep still an issue?
I sleep pretty sound and then, I will just wake up like a baby for a bottle. Times vary.m Sometimes midnuight,2am etc...
I'm eating 1,200 cal a day.

Gi-Jane is correct, space your food out evenly throughout the day. You may find that a planned light snack 100 calories before bedtime helps...

You know, 1200 cals a day is a really low amount of food - the bare minimum, in fact. You're 5'8" and, whilst I don't know your age, weight or the amount of activity you get, you may feel better on 1500 or so.... You may also benefit from having a day soon where you get your full energy needs... typically 2000 or so for adult women. You should be able to sleep through without being so hungry that you wake up for snacks.
Thank you all for advice! I've had this habit for years!
thanks for all your responses. yeah, my sleeping patterns still arent all that great! i work alot of 12 hour shifts at a desk and computer, so i guess i dont get to be that active during the day, and by the time i get home, it doesnt feel like it shud be bed time if that makes sence. maybe ill try eat a slightly larger lunch and as you said a light snack before bed to keep me from stuffing my face. thanks![]()
