Binging but now getting bak on track!

Quote  |  Reply

well most of you know that I am a runner and I've been having awful eating problems and binging episodes..well now im injured. and im so depressed and angry with myself. now im subjected to pool running and biking....i miss being out on the trails and roads...

i just wanted to ask if i will gain weight. i decided to stop the binging and get myself bak on track. i have been having three good meals a day with adequate fat and protein and carbs. but now since im not running i dont want to put on any weight. i know i put on weight from my binges, but will stopping my binges and getting bak on track actuall help me lose weight and get better so i can run again?

I also run a lot for exercise, and I've had previous problems with binging due to severely restricting my calories for long periods of time (not a good idea at all). But anyway, once I got back on track and upped my calories to a normal amount, I didn't feel the need to binge anymore and I lost all of the weight I gained from binging. Don't be too upset, you're not the only one to have this problem. Make sure you're not eating too few calories a day, as this can cause your body to go into starvation mode and make you feel hungrier than you actually are (causing the need to binge). I see that you're eating three good meals a day, which is good. You might want to include a few snacks in between meals to keep your metabolism running smoothly. Even if you can't run because of your injury, swimming and biking are still really great exercise that burn a lot of calories! I guarantee that if you watch what you eat and still continue to exercise you'll lose the weight you gained from binging and be able to run again once your injury heals. I wish the best for you and hope you get better soon ! Smile

Im in the exact same scenario as you are right now (only I'm not injured) with the whole binging thing. Im a second year college student on the X-C team and these past few weeks have been so hard for me because I've been like binging hardcore, and I've been gaining weight, and its been so hard to stop! If you want to talk about anything, you can message me!

Right when I start getting good, I hit rock bottom again.

Yesterday and today were awful binges...today especially. im so worried. i dont want to gain weight. today i had like half of a pb jar, sdo many hershey kisses, chocolate granola bars...im out of control.

i did intense pool running today for and hour and then biked for an hour and i think i burned about 1200-1300 calories today but i think i took in around 4000 to 5000. im just really down in the dumps. i feel awful about myself. i dont want to gain weight. especially for when i start running again.

i guess im just looking for support and reassurance. please help me everyone. i hate myself, how i look, and how i feel. =(
