binging WHILE maintaining
hey yall.. ive been maintaining for a while now but recently have been binging A TON.. i cant go more than 2 days without binging.. (these are small binges mind you but still pretty bad) on the days that i binge i usually eat up to 2500 calories. my maintenance is 1900... or so this site says..
im 5'9.5'' 120 lbs.. and im lightly active... 18 years old
i find that ive been trying to restrict during the day (200 cal breakfast, 300 cal lunch, etc) because i feel like i KNOW im going to binge later on so i should save up calories.. i know it is so silly!! i need advice on how to turn my habits around!

what r u binging on?
You need to stop bingeing and stop restricting to plan for a binge. Don't buy the foods you're bingeing on, and most importantly, remind yourself that if you do this too often, you will gain back all the weight you lost, and then some.
I've been doing this too, recently. Though, I don't put it all in one meal, I sort of overeat by 200-400 calories at each meal. Yesterday was particularly bad. Two buffets at work. I had over 3,000 calories and felt SO disgusting. Ug.
I would suggest not restricting calories earlier in the day, have small solid meals with plenty of protein so that you aren't hungry throughout the day and don't tick up to a binge.
Plan to succeed. Good Luck.

If you are 5'9 1/2" and weigh 120 lbs., you are underweight. I would imagine that 120 would be hard to maintain, considering that it is frighteningly thin for your height. If I were you, I'd concentrate less on trying to restrict calories so you can binge later, and worry more about getting the proper nutrition.
Stop buying the binge foods, and by saving up calories, you are only encouraging yourself to continue this behavior.
So stop it!
A trigger for binging for some is eating less in the beginning of the day, or skipping meals. This makes your body crave more later in the day. Space out your meals so that you don't go too long without eating, and always make sure you have breakfast. Small snacks are encouraged, they keep the metabolism revved up between meals.

Binging is our body's reaction to starvation. Are you getting enough good quality foods to eat? Are you eating enough calories?
