Binging during "that time of the month"

Quote  |  Reply

Anyone else have major issues with eating during your period?? I can't stop eating and eating and eating until my  stomach hurts. It's like I have no ability to say no to the food. This has never happened to me before....

What are you eating on a daily basis?

The reason your body will want to binge is because it will eat anything to get the nutritients that it needs to function.

Your body might need more healthy fats and proteins during TTOM.

Dehydration is also masked as hunger pangs.  Please make sure that you are getting enough liquids.

I find that I eat much more impulsively in the week leading up to that oh so fun time of the month. Where I can normally say no to treats, it becomes a seemingly impossible task. I tend to try to keep anything I might regret eating out of the house, which limits my damage.

There is a slight increase in your metabolism 3 to 4 days before your Menes starts accounting for aprox. 100 to 200 calories. I had heard that years ago and I just did some research on line.

It's also easy to become dehydrated during our period and getting enough fluids is important.

I am going through the same thing right now.  It's almost TTOTM for me and I'm not binging but I am super hungry!  Like I'm not satisfied with the food I'm eating.  I've been dieting for two weeks and have lost five pounds and have not felt hungry or deprived at all until this week.  While I'm not having cravings for sweets or anything in particular, I feel like I want bigger than normal portion sizes of the foods I am eating.  Ugh!  I don't want to slow down my weight loss as I'm so excited about the results I'm getting so I'm trying to drink a lot of water to fill me up.

Well, I'm just wondering- do you 'count' the weight from PMS week. I've been on CC for almost 3 weeks, and heading towards my water retention week.

I started at 194, 10 days later I'm 190- not too shabby.

4 days later (i.e. today) 196. Pissed- very! However... I started doing the math, and sure enough, this will be a water retention and full of other emotions week. So, do I "count" the 196, or chaulk it up to the water and go about my life?
