Bio-Oil For Stretchmarks
Ive been using this oil for about 3 weeks and I'm greatful to say it is definetly working for me. Does anyone else use it??Is there a better stretchmark/scar remedie???
I found Stri-Vectin very good..... but expensive.
Some people swear by Mederma - the same stuff you use for scars. That's actually what my doctor recommended, but I wanted to try less expensive things first. It might be reasonably priced to deal with a scar, but my entire stomach, thighs, and over my breasts...that takes up a lot of cream!
Keri Stretch Mark lotion is cheap and actually worked pretty well for me. I got sick of the scent though, and switched after using one bottle.
I also liked Clarin's stretch mark cream, which I ordered from Sephora. It's moderately expensive, but not nearly as much so as things like StriVectin. (from sephora Clarin's is $50 and StriVectin is $135)
Ah, the good old linea nigra. I still have mine after 6 months. I had it during my first pregnancy, too. I'm not sure at what point it went away but it did completely fade.
I used Curel Mother all through my pregnancy and don't have the dark red stretch marks. All my stretchmarks look like faded scars and can't be seen unless someone's face is in my stomach. I hope nobody except my husband and kids ever get that close. ![]()
ive always had that stupid line even b4 i got pregnant,i never knew what it was i thought it was a scar or birthmark. it just got darker when i had my daugheter
According to Wikipedia, linea nigra:
...is a type of hyperpigmentation resulting from increased production of the pigment melanin thought to be caused by increased estrogen, the same process that causes the areolas to darken. Some research suggests there may be a link between linea nigra and insulin.
After birth, the line fades slowly, but may never disappear entirely, and sun exposure may cause it to recur.
The discoloration can be reduced by taking folic acid.

i'm going to load up on some folic acid LOL!!!!
I'm still taking prenatal vitamins so you'd think mine would be gone by now!
I just started using bio oil and it has helped some. WHile I was pregnant with my second child I used Burts Bees Mama Baby Belly Butter- it took the iching away and smelled really good. And I didn't get any addional stretch marks.
I use Bio-Oil since the second month of my pregnancy.
Now I have about 5 weeks left until I deliver and so far I got none *knock on wood*
