I used to take biotin religiously because I went through this phase where I NEEDED to have long hair.

My personal experience:

It made my hair noticeably thicker and it felt healthier. Which was a big plus, but I didn't notice my hair growing faster.

I really don't think there is a way to make your hair grow faster than its supposed to naturally.

Soo many ppl say the same thing that you did. =*( Ugh I want looong hair. he/he but thanks for the response.

Good long hair is a sign of health, eating right and making sure you get all the vitamins and nutrients you need should result in good lookin hair, healthy skin and solid nails, however nothing is going to grow faster due to various supplements. Just make sure you don't spend to much cash on promises and ilussions. Hair grows about 1 cm a month, there's no way to force that.

It actually grows a half an inch a month.

Veggies...HERE I COME! lol

Hair extensions?

I tried hair extensions once. They're incredibly high maitenence and it felt weird knowing someone else's hair was on my head.

I've been taking it. My hair looks a lot healthier but I haven't noticed much else besides that. A lot of people say that it makes their hair grow a few inches in a month but like everyone else says I don't think thats possible.

thats what he said

0.5 in = 1.25 cm ~ 1 cm

Hair is made up of mainly protein and amino-acids. If you have plenty of them in your diet, it's sure to help your hair!

I've also heard of people taking iron, mainly because of stimulating the blood flow to the scalp and having the correct vitamins nutrients, etc.

Like most of the people that have replied already, I am taking biotin in addition to a B-vitamin supplement and I have noticed that my hair, skin, and nails all have a healthier look.  My hair is thicker and I noticed that not as much falls out in the shower and when I brush it.  My nails don't break as badly.  And my skin has a nice glow to it.  It definitely helps make everything healthier, but not grow any faster.  I love that Biotin is sooo cheap too.  Got it from my pharmacy for 3 bucks for a 3 months supply!

Hm. Oh man, and here I thought I was cool.

To be fair, if you want to be strangely precise, you would say that the average growth rate for adult human scalp hair is .34 mm per day, which works out to 1.03 cm per month. So yeah, 1 cm is more accurate than 1/2 inch. Just sayin.

EDIT TO ADD: Heyyyy you changed your response about being strangely precise...I guess you realized the error of your ways ;).

I did. I realized I wasn't THAT precise.
