So If one takes birth control and they have sex, Can it be without a condom in order not to get pregnant?  Not that I have the strength to do that but Im just wondering.

most of the pills are 99 percent effective at preventing pregnancy, other forms not as effective

NOT against sexually transmitted diseases.

I would think that some one who has been through the "scare" you just went through, would pretty much stick with multiple forms of birth control

Or abstinence.

I was asking because I know many people who do....and never get pregnant but with me is a different story.  Thanks.

Using a condom with some other type of birth control is almost as safe as abstinence! Since you're paranoid/scared of getting pregnant, I recommend using 2 options. And at 18 you should know this by now... please take the time to learn. They have a billion books about this in the library, you can even ask your OB/GYN to teach you if you prefer.

i never got pregnant on the pill/patch or the ring... and i didnt use condoms with my man... i used the b.c as instructed.. but if ur forgetting to take ur pills when ur suppose to or forgetting to change ur patch or nuvaring when ur suppose to, u should use a condom...

I would never reccomend  not using a condom nowadays. You need that protection from STDs because some don't show up on tests for months, and some are deadly. Plus, with the rise in sex addictions nowadays, you never know if your partner is telling the truth about who he/she is sleeping with or what they might have. Use the condom to protect yourself.

Supposedly you can stop using condoms if you are on birth control and in a monogamous relationship.  However, until I got married and my husband and I both got tested, I always found it was best to use a condom no matter what.  A lot of STDs don't have any symptoms, so you never know who has what.  Also, don't forget that you need to use a condom or other back up method for the first month or so that you are on birth control.

Are you having trouble remembering to take the pill? You could consider the Depo shot or Mirena or something like that......... I used to use Depo, there's good and bad with it but I never used condoms with it. Of course, I'm in a monogamous relationship and don't worry about STD's anymore.

Plus, I'm older and getting married in a few months, so if there were an accident, it probably wouldn't be as scary for me as it is for you. It's a personal choice but if you want extra protection, use 2 methods
