My Birth Control and Possible Weight Gain

Quote  |  Reply

I am just a posting fool today!  Here is what I am thinking of trying, please let me know what you think:

I've been on the Nuva Ring for a few years.  Within the past couple years is when I starting struggling with my weight.  Before, I didn't have any problems dropping a few pounds if I had to.  I actually lost about 30.  Over time I gained some back and then after I started the NuvaRing, I went right back up to my highest weight of around 150 (which is what I am around now).

I would like to experiment and see if the birth control is hindering my weight loss.  If you have seen my posts, you would see I have been a member here for 2 years and have had no success.  I tried a lot of different things.

Recently I discovered that Splenda gave me migraines and bad headaches.  I stopped Splenda and got rid of my headaches.  I am hoping this is a similar situation.

I am fine with being off of birth control for a few months to see if it is the reason.  If it is, I will look into other birth control.

What is everyone's opinion?

Edited for errors.

Ok... haha

It might be the birth control, or at least a contributing factor.  You could try switching brands (I think Yaz and Yasmin both are a little more anti-diuretic so if it's more a retaining water weight thing then they're supposed to help a lot.)  Or you could go off all together if you want to.

It doesn't hurt to try. :)
