Birth control questionnnn...

Okayyy soo, i've been on it before but stopped taking it for a while & now i wanna start taking it again.

I just got some today & I was wondering if its okay to take it right away or if i actually have to wait until i get my period or the sunday after or whatever..

im not on my period but was wondering if it works if i just start taking it right away..

As far as i know, for a normal birth control pill you need to wait till you start your period. If you start taking the pill on the sunday for a sunday start, you need to use other protection for a week but if you first day of your period than you are fine.

It's actually dependent on what birth control you are on.

I'd say the best bet is to go to your doc's and ask. Plus you get a quick medical at the same time which is always a bonus.

I just start it the sunday after my period because its just easier. Ive started it during the week before. I would wait till after your next period  that way you just have a fresh start. Sometimes if you start the pills a week or 2 before your period, you still get it and it was just a waste of a pack of pills.

Except for that whole not getting pregnant thing...haha.

You should talk to your doctor, or at the very least your pharmacist. Most pharmacists are happy to answer those types of questions over the phone. :)

Its okay to start whenever your ready.
