Birth control...weight gain

So I am on accutane and by law girls who take it have to take birth control as well because it can cause really bad birth defects.

I've been on it for almost 4 months now and I am 10lbs heavier than when I started. I didnt really notice any weight gain at first, but I think it was something gradual and before I know it I weigh more than I ever have before.

So I've been eating a 1200 calorie diet and working out about 30 min each day in an effort to lose some of this weight, but its been so much harder to lose than it normally is for me. I am going back to school soon and I'm really upset because everytime I go to get dressed I cant find a thing. My fat clothes dont even fit me and I just feel so gross.

Sorry for all the complaining, but does anyone have any advice about how to loose any of this weight and/or what I should do about having nothing to wear? Thanks so much

hey, the same thing happend to me.

i started taking accutane last year and my doc put me on diane 35 i put on 15 lbs. then he switched me to the depo shot because i always forget ot take my pill, then came another 10lbs.

since last year im up 25.

try to stay as active as you can. so far 8 lbs of the b/c weight gain.

Well, I took yaz for a good 6 months and I gained like 25 lbs and the weight  is not easy to come off of me either.    I stopped taking the pill for my own vegetarian reasons .  I have been trying for almost 6 months to lose the weight and I am finally slowly starting to show signs of it coming off. I have never gained so much weight so quickly in my life.   

Please explain the link between the pill and vegetarianism

Not true. You're only required to take BC if you're sexually active. I took accutane and chose the abstinence option and thus didn't have to take any birth control. Talk to your dermatologist about this - you can avoid the weight gain from the BC pill!!!
