Birth Plan...where can I create a good one or find a good one?
I am confused on what options to choose for some of the preferences. Some things I don't know what they are. I've found a few sites by googling birthplan but I was curious if anyone can recommend a really good one.
Are you taking any prenatal classes?
My husband and I have gotten so many handouts and resources from our classes and an excellent birth plan fill out sheet was one of them. It's two pages long and covers everything.
I've learned so much about childcard, labour and delivery from these classes and I'm so glad I went. Plus my husband feels more like he's a part of this all and that he will be able to help lots now and when the time comes :)
From the other thread, I think you an I are due pretty close. My date is Jan 5th, 2009.
check out huggies.com they have a great one.
I have mine still. I could scan it and attach it to a post. I'll have to do that this evening. I know newveggie wanted one too. It's really detailed and you simply check what you want. You can use it for a guide.
The most important thing to remember on your birthplan is that it very well may not happen like that what you imagine at all. We can't plan for every possibility, and many women get "stuck" to their birth plan. We worked on ours during our Bradley Childbirth Class, which I highly recommend if you get a chance to take one. Otherwise, make sure that you are comfortable with your doctor/midwife and your birth place. That will go miles to helping you know that your birth plan will be followed as much as possible. Also remember to bring extra copies to the hospital so that you can give them to the nurses and if your doctor has a sub, they will know where to pick up. We only created a birth plan in case of emergency if we were sent to a different hospital. In the end, we didn't use it but everything went exactly as we wanted. Good luck!
