Tomorrow is my son's 10th birthday I am trying to figure out how i would add in just haveing a bite of his white cake with frosting.....I am one of those people that's fine with just takeing a bite and being ok with it but I am being really honest about putting down all my calories and can't figure out how much would one bite be!!! So frustrating!!!!

try not to be obsessive. if you are paranoid with your calorie counting and want to play it safe, estimate up. call it 100 calories and put it behind you.
I'd say, figure out how much one piece of cake is, and take 1/10 of that. And that will probably be a very generous estimate.
So I know that all cakes have different nutritional values, but a sara lee white iced cake is 310, so a bite would probably be about 31 calories.
You know its not going to hurt you? (in the sense of making you actually GAIN) right?
You could have like 3 pieces of the cake, and you're not going to put on fat (unless you have 3 pieces of a day following...ya know?)
Treat yourself! Not only is it your son's birthday... but I think you should celebrate the hard WORK you put in 10 years ago when having him! :-D

I went to dinner with my friends tonight and they ordered this apple pie ice cream sundae thing...and I really wanted some...my friend made a good point in saying "You can have some, you never indulge yourself!" I think she had a good point. It's okay to indulge in foods like cake and things, especially if it's a special occasion, as long as you don't do it all the time. Enjoy the day!
At first I was really strict about not eating the wrong things and with counting every calorie. After learning to eat healthy though, and knowing the numbers I realized I could occassionally indulge in a meal or a piece of cake without gaining weight or putting a halt to my weight loss altogether. The key is to keep it in check and not let it become an everyday/every meal thing.
I think it would send the wrong message to your son if you didn't eat a piece of cake.
My mom would often cook us food that she wouldn't eat herself. It totally rubbed my brother and I the wrong way.
totally agree with dm84,
my mom would always say...oh i would love to have some but its just too rich....aka too fatening and it always made the rest of us feel disgusted at ourselves for having indulged, or she would eat a bite and touch her stomache and complain that she should not have eaten it. she still does it .
but she did this with everything and still today i think of many foods which are healthy and fine to eat as terrible because my mom would make such a fuss it would make her fat, we never even had butter in the house and she never baked or cooked cause she was scared of making herself fat.
enjoy your kids cake and even better take him for a walk or hike just the two of you.

Happy birthday to your son!
My son's 14th birthday was yesterday. He wanted an orange cake with chocolate frosting, so that's what I made him. And not just any orange cake, but an orange cake that calls for (I am not making this up) two sticks of butter and six (!) eggs. And on top of that, I make chocolate-covered orange slices to put on top of it.
My son gets one 14th birthday in his entire life, and I have only one opportunity to celebrate his 14th birthday in my entire life.
So we went out to dinner, came home, and ate cake. I had one slice, as did everyone else, and really enjoyed it.
You can probably figure out from that what my advice to you is! :-)

Take a piece! It's your son's birthday!
Instead of not eating any cake, why not bake a low-cal, low-fat one? You can cut sugar by half, use splenda...
Use applesauce and/or plain yogourt instead of butter...
There are loads of pretty neat recipes on the web, and you'll be able to eat cake without feeling bad about yourself, but really, enjoy the day!
