I have been doing so well with the weight loss but my birthday is in six days and everyone is talking about getting me cakes and cookies and stuff. I don't want to be mean and be like no don't but how do I avoid all this fattening food I am about to be surrounded by?
its your birthday your allowed to spoil yourself a lttle bit! just make sure you dont over eat, try to keep within your calories and you will be fine!
Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! ![]()
Have you told people you're watching your calories? If they don't know that then they'll assume that fatty and delicious cakes and treats are what they should be, a treat you'll enjoy.
You can always enjoy those things in moderation, or workout a little extra that day.
Besides, it's your birthday... a day of celebration that happens only once a year. I say you endulge a little (Consider it a present to yourself xDD)
Happy early birthday!
First of all, indulging a little is fine. You can probably keep it within your maintenance calories if you don't overeat. You can always save some of the cookies and cake for the rest of the week, and then eat them in moderation spaced out throughout the week so that they don't affect your daily allowance. Maybe you don't have to eat all of your delicious birthday treats on your birthday.
No matter how much you chose to eat on that one day the worst that you'll manage is to wipe out your deficit for the week. Not thinking about dieting on my birthday would be worth not losing for one week to me, you just have to decide if it's worth it to you.
Happy Be Earlyed Birthday ![]()
I too have a birthday coming up mine is sunday. I'm just going to eat pretty low cal for every other meal, but I'm having some CAKE, I love cake.
How close are you to your goal? (if you don't mind me asking)
It's alway worth checking out other posts before commenting. From your previous thread entitled 'Nobody is noticing my weight-loss'
"I am 18 years old, 5'8", use to be 134lb but in the past two months I have dropped to 120lb. I don't see a difference in my body and nobody has commented that I look thinner either. This is upsetting and adding to my already depressed mind set."
From http://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/bodycomp/bmiz2.html A 68" tall, 120lb, 18 year-old girl has a BMI of 18.3 which is at the 11th percentile for her age. Although being thin could be perfectly normal for this girl she could potentially be at risk of being underweight, particularly if she has recently lost weight or stopped gaining weight.
You've lost 14lbs in 2 months when you weren't overweight to start with. You can't see the difference in your body, you're upset, depressed and now you're fretting about avoiding something as innocent as a piece of your own birthday cake .... Have you been to see a doctor yet?
Happy Birthday Taurus buddy!
Mine is on Sunday and I am having the same thoughts about all the food. I am just going to work out this week and the day of and not think about it at all that day... It is MY day that day and I can treat myself, you should too, you deserve it for taking care of yourself!
word! my bday is sunday too - I'm already anticipating a lot of excess drinking and such - so I'm trying to plan in exercise so that I don't feel as bad. For instance, instead of going to the gym, I'm going golfing at the local driving range - something I've wanted to do for some time now.
Not saying that it's as good as an hour on the elliptical, but at least it's something right? Just enjoy the weekend and resolve to work extra hard next week:)
April 26th rocks! ![]()
I'm definitely going to try to squeeze in some extra work outs where ever I can this week, because I'm having my cake and eating it too :-)
