Birthday party tomorrow... Oh noes !
So my friend is hosting her 19th birthday party tomorrow night, and here's what's planned for the evening :
- Cheese fondue
- Chinese fondue with raw steak
- Chocolate fondue
- Cake
- Chips
- Sodas
- Chocolate
- ...and MORE high-calorie foods !

I'm already planning to eat dinner with my boyfriend at our place before attending the party, but how can I politely refuse the treats without them encouraging me to have some ?
Any chance that you can have some of the goodies there? If you refuse it all, you might need to defend yourself a little harder. If you have a couple of things, just say something like "I left some room for this but I just can't have everything" Or, try and make your pieces smaller and/or last longer. Nobody will notice if you're chattin' it up...they'll see you're working on your cake in good time. You could always have something to drink in your hand so you always look like you have something.
If you don't have anything, you may have to say something like your tummy is sensitive so you don't want to push it. Just say "It's no big deal...I just don't want to make it mad and have to leave"
Some days are meant for splurging and this might be one of them, so if you do indulge, it's understandable.
Maybe you should bring your own snacks/dessert and eat that so you wont feel so bad?
fresh fruit and whipped topping for example..
Thanks for your comments !
I've been on Weight Watchers since November 3rd, and I really don't want to waste all my POINTS on one evening.
Plus, all my friends know about my weightloss plans, and I don't want them to try to talk me in eating all that crap Lol.
But I really like the idea of holding food without actually eating it...
Just be sure to stay away from too much drinking while around all that food, your inhibitions may get lowered and then eating will ensue!
Good luck, CC will be here no matter what happens!
I would just skip dinner at home so I could endulge and enjoy myself at the party without worrying too much... Just eat in moderation, I think that's the key :)
Personally, I think it's better to plan ahead and eat something at the party, even if it's just to nibble a square of cake. If there's diet soda, have that. If there are fresh veggies for dipping, have that. I think you can save some calories, have some party food, and not blow your diet. It's not like this comes around every day, right?
Thank you so much everyone ! I'm definitely trying your tips tonight ! Yay :)
I dont have much to say about eat as i dont deit but read the title... my 19th birthday is tomorrow aswell
Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
This is the best way to picture a portion of pie or cake: Draw a circle to represent the circumference of the cake or pie (9" pie? 10" cake?... Read more
