Has anyone had any luck with these? How did they turn out? I made a batch earlier and I'm not sure if I just can't follow directions or they just really are that gross but I was sorta looking forward to them not tasting like paste Undecided

This is the recipe I used:

I couldn't find agave nectar so I used an equal amount of honey instead. I also left out the optional ingredients.

Well, they look pretty good in the picture :)

I did make black bean brownies once, but all the recipe called for was a box of brownie mix and one can of pureed black beans, maybe a bit of water.  I liked them.

On the whole, I prefer pumpkin brownies.  That's just a box of brownie mix and some pumpkin.  The recipe is from Hungry Girl, and they call it fudge, but it's brownies to me.  Here's the recipe if you would like to try it.

I just usse a brownie mix and a can of black beans.  They always turn out great.

Try a can of pumpkin and a chocolate cake mix with a bit of water.  Makes a great chocolate cake and you don't even taste the pumpkin.

Well, call me ignorant but....the thought of black beans in my brownies is just not a pleasant thought! lol

Pumpkin yes, black beans, no!

Thanks!! I've always had pretty good luck using canned pumpkin.. I think I'll stick to that from now on. I probably didn't puree the beans enough since I had to smush them by hand with a potato masher. Live and learn I guess :(

Actually, don't worry, I made these, and they really weren't brownies, unfortunately. They tasted fine to me, but they just don't taste like brownies or have the same texture. I won't be making them again, but it was an interesting experiment anyway. :P

They taste like chocolate flavored beans...mmmm....very delicious...but then again, I don't like regular brownies because whenever I try them they are too sweet - I feel like the beans absorb some of the sweetness to make it taste great (like adzuki bean paste! =])
