Every time I think I'm feeling pretty comfortable with my body, something stupid messes everything up and I'm back to square one. Like today,I was looking at Victoria's Secret models and feeling pretty happy because they are actually slightly more normal-looking than most fashion models (presumably because in order to sell a bra you have to have something to put in it ... sorry, that was bitchy Tongue out ). So I thought I'd check out their stats and see if they were close to mine. Turns out that the average VS model is 4 inches taller than me and weighs 5 pounds less! And a lot of their weight is probably pure muscle too. What makes things worse is that my boyfriend saw me looking at a pic of Miranda Kerr and said "Wow, she's hot!"

Grrr, grrr...

Rant over.

Hey, being just 5 pounds heavier and 4 inches shorter is nothing. If your stats are that close you are probably pretty hot! Those models may look normalish in photos (mainly because we're so used to seeing bonier stick-thin models) but I'm pretty sure that if you saw them in real life they would look extra-amazing and toned so wanting to look as good as them is a pretty high aim anyways - and don't forget that it's their livelihood to look that great. You can look pretty damn sexy without being as 'perfect' as a victorias secrets model. But yeah, being a large-busted women, I love the fact that they actually have boobs! lol.

okay now im not sure where i read it but i saw that Victorias secret models have insane stats, like 36 22 33 or something like that.  they also have like zero body fat, they are just shaped curvily, not curvy in the way people use it as a euphimism for actually fat.

Victorias secret goes for sexy rather than chic.  Good move considering they selling underwear.

I agree, if you are that close to their stats, I am very jelous!

Its also rediculous to compare yourself to celebrities and models. They are not real life!!  Do you really need to be told again about the joys of lighting angles and digital touch ups!  Not to mention when you have a lot of money you are able to invest in things liike personal trainers, personal dieticians, chefs and personal food shoppers.  Would make things a bit easier huh.

Go for YOUR personal best.  It used to do my head in comparing and trying to achieve someone elses standards.  I used to look at not just celebrities but my friends and think well if she can look like that so can i.  but thats so stupid.  Go for personal bests and you certainly get more satisfaction and healthier esteem.

Now throw this all back to me next time I moan.
