Good Morning BLACK Team!

Just dropped in to say hello and introduce myself to my new teammates... My name is Cathy (Stone is fine if you can't remember :).  I play many roles in my life but is not who I am.  I have 2 teenage daughters and a husband of almost 17 years.  I LOVE music!  My day is usually filled with it.

I began my "fitness" journey in January of this year.  I weighed 225 lbs. at 5'2" tall with a 54" waistline (I know, almost big around as I was tall).  I couldn't even walk up the stairs in my home without having to "take a break"....  I decided to do something about it!  I began exercising 3x a week for 5 minutes and eating MUCH healthier.  Many times at just 5 minutes, I would have to stop because of chest pains and shortness of breath.  This, to me, just emphasized how much I needed a change so I kept plugging along... and it slowly got better!  Now, here I am in July weighing 184 and loving the way I feel and look!

Well, enough about me and my journey!  What about everyone else?  Wanna share?

Good luck to all and GO BLACK TEAM (future BIGGEST LOSERS)!!!!

Good afternoon all!

I started out on CC back in September 07 weighing 277. I had lost about 30 lbs over the course of a year and then got off track and gain much of it back.  In January I decided that it was time to get back on track and recommit to living a healthier lifestyle.  So here I am slowly making changes and getting back to where I was almost a year ago.

Now it's time to pick it up a notch. My current goal is to get to 220 by Thanksgiving.  That will be my lowest weight in well over 15 years!  After that my goal is to get under 200 lbs in time for a trip to Washington DC with my daughters class.  It will involve hours of walking (they estimated that they walked close to 15 miles a day on the trip this year!) and I want to be physically able to do so.

I've participated in BLC challenges in the past and have had some success but am looking for lots support and motivation as I continue on my journey.  Unfortunately this past weekend was not good. I managed to completely lose control and gained almost 10 lbs over 4 days. I know most is due to the lack of water, increased sodium and lack of exercise while we had company in. So this week my goal is to really work on controlling portions and getting back on track with exercise.  I'm also closely watching my water consumption.

Good luck to all as we continue on our journeys.

Guess I should introduce myself as well. :)

Well, I've always been overweight, obese actually. Grade school, middle school, highschool, and entering college. Always fat. Well, I always wanted to lose weight. I tried fat camps, weight watchers, slim fast, liquid diets, you know, all the good stuff, but never stuck with it out of laziness or pure ignorance. I ate what I wanted as soon as the diets ended, the crazy amounts I wanted, and only walked around when it was absolutely necessary. I stuck out in my group of fit friends and in my school and, entering college, I stuck out even more.

Around March, at 18, I decided that I would no longer be fat, right then and there, but I didn't want to weigh myself. Eventually, I faced the music and found out that I was a ridiculous 349 which, even on my 6 foot frame, was ridiculous, unhealthy and, since I'm a teen, disgusting. After crying about it and holding multiple pity parties with friends and family (that didn't even know they were invited) I logged my weight into the site that night and said, "Well, I guess we'll start from here."

That was in April.

Since then I've lost about 67 pounds and have gotten out of the 300's for the first time in years. I'm not going back. I've done it with nothing but getting off my ass and moving and logging in what exactly I was putting in my mouth. I now go to the gym, no longer bitching about my weight problem or blaming others, I'm doing something about it. I plan to throw this fat suit away by age twenty (fingers crossed).

Teammate wise, I'm not a big man, but I am a big girl, so I should lose some weight and keep our teams numbers up. :)

Nice to meet you.

Hey Team,

I'm Jodi!  I've been on CC since March of 2008.  I have a similar story to our team leader except it took me until 35 to decide to take off the weight for good and the right way.  I've been at this a long time and it's going slow but steady.  I started counting calories on a different site when I was 250lbs.  Now I'm proud to say I'm 188 (as of last tuesday) and feeling so much healthier and happier with myself and everyone around me.

I've got 3 kids ages 3, 5 & 7.  A dog, a cat and a hubby.  I'm a stay at home mom and keep busy volunteering at the school and for animal rescue groups.

This will be my 3rd BL Challenge and my goal is to hit the 170's by week 8 so I've got to ramp back up to where I was a few weeks ago before school got out.  It's been a lot harder to fit in all my workouts with all 3 kids home!

Hi Black team! It's great to meet you all and see some old buddies.

I'm Monica, I have 2 kids, 8 and 20 and I'm a stay at home mom. I was always fat but my fattest was in May '08 at 255lbs. At 5'7" my BMI was 41! Fortunately I decided to change things for good. I started to exercise and eat healthy and I'm very happy to say I've lost over 95lbs and my BMI is 25.3, so close to a healthy weight. I'm 10lbs away from my goal and I've never felt as fit in my life. Hopefully I'll lose at least 6 on this challenge.

Good luck everybody!

Everyone has such good stories. :0

Good luck on this week's weigh in. I'm sure we'll all do well. <3

Hey team :) Its my first time competing in a challenge like this and i'm quite excited; i'm sure we will do great! **high five**Anyways, My name is Riya, I'm 5ft 3in and I'm 18 years old. I was 140.4lbs when i started this challenge a week ago and now am at 139.2lbs. My goal is 120-125lbs...this new healthy weight is a part of my "make over" plan before starting college. I want to start college as a healthy, smart, beautiful girl with great confidence in herself and a very positive attitude towards life.

Go Team Black!! Much love ♥

Hey Team, don't forget today is the last day to post your week 1 weights!  Good luck everyone!!!  go Black!

Hi team!

I have had a hard week.  My routine is off balance due to travel and company.  But those are just excuses.  I gained this week.  What kills me is my ability to gain in a couple days what takes a couple months to lose!

Anyways...

I'm 26# from my goal weight, but 74# below where I started this journey in September.

Sorry for the bad weigh-in this week.  Hope I don't get voted off!

I'm going on a long run today ... hopefully I'll burn a lot of calories.

Its ok ranchobernado...just keep with your routine and i'm sure you'll do much better this week. Good luck!

Go Team BLACK!

Sorry Team!  Gained a pound this week... not an excuse but maybe a reason, it's ttotm...  On a lighter note (so to speak... lol) it's always better the week after for me Cool

No worries team mates...we're on this journey together.  There's bound to be a few bumps in the road.  I just try to keep focused on the destination...a healthier me and I'm getting closer to that each day!

Have a great week 2 everyone!

I feel horrible about having to post such a huge gain this week.  I keep making excuses - family in town, etc but the fact is I'm the only one that ate the food and didn't do the exercise.  I'm the only one that can make the changes that need to be made so I'm back at tackling them one at a time.

Good luck on week 2 everyone.

I too had a bad week, one pound up. My excuse? My son had no camp this week so I exercised less than usual and ate more! Excuses, excuses... Is it too early in summer to wish the kid back at school? LOL.

Augette, as you can read, you're not the only one eating and not exercising! Let's do this change together and step up this week. I commit to exercise more and watch my over snacking.

Here we go week 2! Good luck everybody.

I'm with you guys!

I haven't exercised since July 3rd and it's freaking me out!!!  I've been so busy with the 3 kids home for the summer I haven't made time to do it.  I know that I could squeeze it into my schedule but I think mentally I'm just not into it.  Maybe it's because it finally got HOT here or something, but I too have to buck up and just do it!!!  Thanks for the reminder Monica!

I've had a much better weekend.  Still splurged a little when with dinner out and took the kids to see Harry Potter (I can never seem to pass up the movie popcorn so I guess it's a good thing I don't go often!)

But with the splurge I've also manage to get in about 60 minutes of exercise today. My goal is to get in at least 250 minutes this week.

way to go, augette! Good job on the exercise, I'll follow you with the 250min this week. My son has baseball camp in the mornings this week, and I plan to be at the gym Mon-Fri to make up for my lack of action this past week. I also went to see HP last week with the family and I didn't eat much at dinner because I looove the popcorn, so I save some calories for it when I go to the movies. All in all popcorn is not that bad, without butter of course.

jodi, I see your routine is also messed up with the kids at home. It also affects my disposition to go to the gym. But enough of that, we HAVE to find a way. We've come so far! Let's do this!!!

Week 0.   7/7-79: 140.4
Week 1.   7/14-7/16: 139.2
Week 2.   7/21-7/23:138.4

I'm on a roll, go TEAM BLACK!! I know you all can do it!

...The info hasn't been updated...Maybe I should just plug in the numbers for our forum...

Well, ladies and gents, it seems our team has gained weight (if my math is correct that is). :(

We really have to focus! 8.5 in a week is just too much, and it hurts to type in those + symbols. I know we can to better! Keep trying! Also, the names in bold I can't seem to find your week one weigh-ins, so please post them. <3

Congrats to wants2bhot for her 4 pound weight loss, making her our personal biggest loser for week 1! Congrats!
