I usually count everything i eat. Post it on calorie count here. Its tedious, but Ive seen progress since I joined. I rollerblade allot, its always fun except when its into the wind.
Hello everyone! How are you? Well, I am new to the BLC and this is the first real challenge I am even trying....I started CC in Jan and have happily lost around 35lbs since then. My biggest problem is that I have not yet learned to be consistent with my effort. My plan of attack thus far has been watching my calorie intake (although I admit I'm not watching much else...if I want a piece of pizza or a handful of chips, I will have them, I just try to plan and adjust my calories accordingly) and I have been getting on the treadmill. My issue is that I have 2 little ones under the age of 3 at home and I let them get me off track too easily.
My goal is to lose about another 15lbs and see what that looks like...honestly I didn't think I would lose what I have at this point and I never thought I would see the 170's again, so we will see! I have recently started some different group classes to see if that would help me and I look forward to experimenting with several to see how they go. I am hoping this challenge keeps me accountable for the next several weeks and help jumpstart me into dropping some more weight.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and help each other out. I do journal on occassion and encourage any of you to befriend me and check things out. I hope everyone has a successful week 1.....GO BLUE!!!
Im kind of like how you described yourself with eating junkfood and planning your calories accordingly. I try not to but sometimes it cant be helped right. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I feel that anything is ok in moderation. Accept maybe heroin. I try to save it all for the weekend though, for a "day off" usually its a day when i know im going to be drinking. (Beer really adds up).It seems to have worked so far, Im not going to complain about my results from the last round of BLC.
Hey all -
I'm new to BLC and challenges in general. I've had a CC account since 2008 - but haven't really used it. I haven't had much luck with losing weight - I'm about the same as I was 2 years ago! I desperately want to be under 200 pounds! I keep a food journal/calorie counts, but not online.
Let's see...I live with my parents/brothers, so I have to eat what my folks eat, be it homemade or takeout. I do well with the food thing all day, but then dinner comes and I overeat. This week is vacation week - so eating at restraunts/takeout - be lucky if I don't gain. Ugh.
I've been super weird about food since I was little. I've been vegetarian since I was three, and was shocked to learn Chicken McNuggets were made out of chickens! I tend to eat like it's my last meal.
If anyone wants to buddy up, just, ya know, friend me!
-Lisa
Hi ya Blues,
My name is Jaye (female). My intentions are to up my exercise this round of BLC. I am training for the 801 Power Climb in Feb 2010. This is a fund raiser for the American Lung Association. You go up a 40 story building of about 80 some flights of stairs. I work in a 15 floor building with 3 sub basements, so I make an attempt to train each day at work.
I have always done step aerobics but didn't lose weight until I got serious about counting calories. I have tried all sorts of gimmicky diets in the past. This one just makes sense to me. Calories in and calories out. So anyway I didn't do step aerobics this summer. I decided to learn to run. At a little over 50 I thought it would be a miracle if I could do it. Well in the 2 months I have been doing this I can now run 2 miles and part of the 3rd and 4th.
Now, I am adding in weights and push ups to my routine. My goal is to exercise 6 days a week.
Hey blue team!
Sorry I haven't checked in yet! My internet has been a little sketchy lately. . .boo. I have been counting calories and exercising. I think it really takes the combination of both for me to be successful.. .just one or the other doesn't cut it for me! I've also been trying to eat healthier, get in more fruits and veggies, cut out all of the junk!
Let's all have a great challenge this time around!
Well, I eased my way back into things this week after a several week "break"....aka me being lazy. Anyway, I attempted to watch calories again this week and aim for a 500 calorie a day deficit...I lost half a pound, so obviously I feel a little short, but this weeks goal is to work some regular exercise back in. Today I did a plyometrics class at the gym (well, more like half the class because my little one decided to cry...I don't think shes feeling well), but I purchased several group classes and intend on getting back there regularly. My goal is 2 more classes before next weeks weigh in and atleast 45 minutes on the treadmill somewhere. Not huge things, but adding little by little back in so I don't get too overwhelmed. Target weight loss for the next weigh in is 1.5lbs. Sounds doable in my mind!
Thanks to all of you that have added me as a friend! I plan on journaling a little more like I used to and will check in here every couple days. Fight hard this week gang, even if we have a slow start, Team Blue will finish strong in the end with a little hustle at the beginning!
GO BLUE!!!
Hiya everyone! My name's Emma and this is also my first challenge :) I'm not really as focused on losing numbers on the scale as I am on losing fat, and gaining muscle, however I know that while doing so, my weight will go down (hopefully)!! I'm looking forward to seeing the end result of this challenge! I have this problem where i get really psyched to eat healthy and then exercise everyday for a couple straight weeks and then the next thing I know, I really resent going to the gym after work. I'm hoping that weekly weigh-ins will help fix this little problem :).
gymcoach79: What exactly is a plyometrics class? I can honestly say I have never heard of it and I'm always looking for new and exciting exercise styles :)
Hope everyone's having a stress-free fantastic week!
I wieghed in yesturday, down 1.2 pounds. I was hoping for alittle more, but ill take what I can get. How about the rest of you, how did you all do?
Blue Rocks!!! As of right now we all accounted for except for 2 and I know they will post and we did GREAT! Congrats everyone. Week 1 is done and we all showed up to the party. Keep up the great work. I will post again when we have everyone.
Way to go guys!!
Alot of teams appeared to have difficulties getting going, but we did awesome! As far as I saw, we all lost weight....terrific! I did notice a lot of us, myself included, had less then 1lbs losses, but a loss is a loss...don't forget that! We are just pacing ourselves for week 2...
Keep up the good work guys! I'm so proud of everyone! A little extra motivation for this week....what milestones have you hit in your weight loss journey that made you proud? Was it when your spouse said you looked great? How about that pair of jeans from high school fitting again? How about when you finally left a number in the past...like the 200's? Maybe it was the fact that you chose a bottle of water over a can of soda without thinking twice.....
My moment in my journey was when my little guy on my Wii told me I was overweight (instead of obese) ;) Find your moment, think of it often and let it drive you!!!
Hey Guys... I'm Elizabeth. I am new to the BLC, but I am excited to have a team to be accountable to! I love competing, so think this will really help get my weight loss back on track. I would like to get down around 150 by the end of the Summer and to get back into a regular exercise schedule. I have the eating thing pretty well under control, I just haven't been making the time to consistently exercise... anyway, I am SUPER PROUD of the team effort this week... way to go! :-)
Well I did the math and we lost a total of 22.2lbs! That's terrific. It doesn't matter if you had a little (like me) or a lot (Way to go Blaskowski, eamikel and Emma!) of loss, a 100% loss is awesome. Keep up the good work and have a great week-end.
Thats awesome. Great job all.
Hey how was everyone's week-end. Mine sucked. I had to work both Saturday and Sun. and now I am back at work again. (Don't tell anyone I am not working. :) The positive part was that I was on my feet almost all of each day and didn't have a chance to misbehave in the hand to mouth game. I hope that has a positive result by Wednesday or Thursday. Anyhoo... Happy Monday and hope all is well with the Bluemates. Better get back to work before I am busted.
It;s back to work for me. I was on layoff for 7 months. So, today Im back and ill be around on my feet for an extra 8 hours a day. Hopefully It will help me loose the wieght i gained from being off. Along with the extra stuff I do like rollerblading etc.
