Green Team Rocks!!

I agree green team rules! I think that we just have to keep this up and blow the other teams away (encouragingly doind it of course!)

Thanks nikki that will help!

Well, I was looking through my previous posts and realized that I haven't introduced myself, so here goes...

My name is Chasta and I'm married (12 years) with 6 kiddos (12yo boy, 9yo boy, 7yo girl, 5yo girl, 3yo boy, 11mo girl).

I started on CC on July 16, 2008.  At that time I weighed 242.6 lbs.(I had a baby May 28th 2008, so perhaps some of that weight was from the pregnancy).  I started on CC to lose weight for my sister's wedding (Sept. 13th, 2008).  On the day of the wedding, I was down to 224, an 18lb. loss.  But then I fell off the CC wagon for  the rest of Sept., Oct., and Nov. of '08!  As of Nov. 30th, 2008, I was back up to 232lbs.  I've lost 22.6lbs since that date, but I NEED to stay FOCUSED!  Thanks to all for being open about your struggles and for your support. We can help each other along this road...GOOOO GREEN!

Wow we've got a great start team!  I just added another pound to our loss this week, not thrilled with it but a pound off is a pound gone.  Wish it was more but it's a start.   Should  be good to go with running again so I'm sure next week will be better.

Looking back seems like a lot of us have the same goals and reasons going.  I'll be in Port Canaveral area with extended family in July, I'm from the other end of FL lol.  That's my push to get the weight off..I'll NEVER hear the end of it.. and other then that it's for me.  I'm not happy being fat, yeah used the f word... but I do feel it even if i'm only "slightly large" I see myself as a lot bigger.

It's hard being that stick skinny person all your life that can Never gain weight (when I needed to I was taking in upwards of 6k cals a day and it was horrible) and then suffering a life changing injury.  I've beaten it (and if I get my way the 2010 half iron man here I'll be competing) but the weight is still a problem.  Lost months of my life to crutches, injections, MRI's, surgery, physical therapy, and complications.... found 65# in the process or nightmare...I prefer nightmare.

I'd gotten 40 of it off by this past fall..... and then gained again =(  Right now, I'm about 25# down from my highest weight.  I don't know how much I can get off by July.  My trip is about 2 weeks after we close out here.  But it'll be good whatever it is.

More on me - married 10 years and I have 4 amazing kids, 3 girls (10,9&4) and one son who's 7.  I'm an artist by trade and right now I'm doing work for 3d models for the most part.  I miss doing printwork and book covers but hopefully I'll be able to do more of those in the near future. I'm a former photographer and hope to be back in the game there with a new camera if all goes well in the next couple of months.

My ideal weight is back in the 120 range since I felt most comfortable at that weight.  I'm only 5'3" and have a small frame.  It's a lot to lose...50# more.  I know I can, just scared to push myself sometimes.  It's nice to have a group to hold me in to the plan though.

Hi LadyDeuce!  That is so great that you are sharing your story with us.  I can't imagine going through a painful injury.  I'm such a wimp when it comes to pain!  I'll keep you accountable to reaching the 120 range as long as you do the same for me!  I'm 5'3" also and my goal weight is 125, so we can work on it together!

You know, only here would I be ashamed of my 1-pound weight loss!  Haha.  No worries.  You ladies are doing awesome, and I am damn proud of my pound.  Hopefully next week I can contribute a little bit more.  Good job everyone!

Hey justsmileandnod! Your post reminded me of the real BL tv show, where they cry and worry because they 'only' lost 4lbs, lol.  I'd be having a party if I lost 4lbs!! Cool  This challenge will push me to keep doing my best because my team is counting on me, but 1 to 1.5 pounds per week is my average and I am also damn proud of myself and of you!  Green is off to a great 1st week!

Thanks mamamiasmith!

And now I have a real question to pose to all of you.  I've started seeing somene--it's only the second date, but it's going well.  My problem is that we're going out to Thai tonight, and I know that I've gotten into this trap before.  In my last serious relationship, I gained 60 of the 90lbs that I had spent the previous two years losing, and I know it's because we ate out a lot, and I tended to mimic his horrible eating habits.

Well, now I'm 60lbs wiser, and I have no intention of repeating my mistakes, but do you all have any suggestions for dates that don't revolve around food?  Going out for dinner every once in a while is fine, but neither my wallet nor my waistline can affored to do it often!

Thanks!

I am always amazed on the Biggest Loser when they are upset about losing 3 or 4 pounds. But I guess if you were working out so many hours and had such a structured environment it would be frustrating not to lose more.

I usually do really good for the first few weeks of my diet. Than it seems as if I just get bored and stop trying. But this time I really do think it is different because I really WANT it this time.

So to anyone on the team do NOT feel bad about losing one pound. Everyone's body reacts differently to dieting. And a lot of you guys have been dieting for a while and have already lost quite a few pounds, everyone hits a plateau from time to time. I am just excited that our team seems to be super excited about losing that is the important thing.

justsmileandnod - You could always go bowling, miniture golf, movies, dancing, laser tag.. so many things, just be creative!

ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!  i'm weighing in tomorrow morning and i'm sooooo nervous, lol!  so, if you didn't read on of my earlier posts, this past weekend was filled with lots-o-eating out and not-so-much exercising.  i kicked it back into gear yesterday and today with eating strictly 1200 net cals and working out like a mad woman.  today's workout was the real biggest loser style - ya know, the last chance workouts, haha!  ok, so it was no where near that intense, but you get the picture.

keep your fingers crossed for me and i'll let you know the results in the morning!

keep up the tremendously awesome job green team, hopefully i don't ruin it. "/

LoL Nikki, you're not going to ruin anything for us!  Not even if you gain 10 pounds.  We'll just send you 17 nagging pm's every day till next weigh-in, that's all LaughingWink

justsmileandnod- my kids had a school party last night and I went with them - to the rollerskating rink!  OMG, it was fun and crazy.  Try sugesting that, or other activities, for your dates - the rink was only $3 + $1 for skate rentals.  Bring a water bottle :)  Museum's, zoo's, and botanical gardens are fun too.

Keyster, wanting it is the key (ha ha, notice the pun? not intended, lol) I'm off to watch BL finale on the dvr now!

So what did everyone think of the BL finale? I thought that the people's weight loss wasn't as dramatic as it has been in the past. I mean it was still a lot, but I thought the people kind of looked like they did as they were leaving the ranch. Don't get me wrong they all looked great, but except for Helen I didn't think the WOW factor was there. I am probably just being critical though. Oh and Jerry he looked amazing.

Jerry...wow just wow!  I was so amazed with him and Estella both.  And Nicole! They looked Amazing.  Though it'd have been more shocking to see her only at finale and not during later weeks when they had her come back.

I'm peeved Helen won because I hated her "Me me me" attitude.  She just seemed so fake to me and I really didn't like her.... but.... that said, she really has transformed her life and hopefully Shannon will be able to come around when she's ready.  Tara was so close but I know she struggled at home before so I had a feeling she'd be close but not quite.  Mike looked great and I'm really happy for him and Ron doing well and I know that the 2 of them together will be able to help Max now that the show is over and they can focus on all of them.

I don't really watch the show (crazy, I know) but I don't watch a lot of tv during the week.  I got into it a few seasons ago when they had a marathon on Bravo leading up to the finale.  It is such an encouraging show and I love seeing the transformations.

It would be cool to have a photo gallery of our transformations, but to be honest, the idea of taking a before picture scares me!  I think I would start crying if I was forced to get a true to life picture of what I look like.  I'm so used to twisting and posing, sicking in my gut and hiding behind my skinny friends that to be real and open about how I really look would be overwhelming.

sooo, i only lost .2 pounds. Frown

BUT, i suppose i'm ok with that.  at least i didn't gain right?  after last weekend, i guess losing anything at all (even if it is a meager 1/5th of a pound, lol) is a good thing.  i could have gained, and that would have sucked, lol.

ah well, let's just focus on next week's weigh in where hopefully i'll see a bigger drop.  sorry green team. Embarassed

good job!..

No need to apologize, Nikki!  A loss is a loss, no matter how big or small.  You're doing a great job, along with everyone else on the team!

Ok so I blew the healthy eating out of the water today and then some.  Not sure if I should push on the elliptical later or just let it go tonight and start fresh tomorrow.  I got next to no sleep last night and have been on the go all day with my daughter, from covering ped to hospital to health care supply center it took the whole day.  Had to get something to eat and ended up at sonic.  ugh.  So good but soooo bad for you.  No word yet but they're thinking sprain or pulled ligament in the ankle.  early word was no break but they're being careful.

ladyduece--if you can hit the elliptical, then do so.  If not, no worries, just drinks LOTS of water to help stave off the innevitable water retention from the salt in the Sonic food.  And don't feel too bad.  It's one day in the week; you have much more pressing matters to deal with right now!  Good luck!

Random question - How much does being "dehydrated" affect your weight?  Yesterday I weighed in at 192.2 and this morning I weighed in at 194.4.  I know that I did not gain that much real weight overnight, especially since I went to a cardio dance class.  However, I forgot to bring a water bottle, and I think I didn't drink enough water.  I'm wondering if my body started to freak out and is holding on to all the water I do have and if that is what caused the 2.2 ld. weight "gain".
