Hi Team Orange members!

Let's use this spot to introduce ourselves, motivate and encourage each other!

I'm a 37 y/o mom of two, ages 8 and 5.  I'm married to my adoring husband of 13 years.  I've only been on CC for about a month now.  My short-term GW is 155 by 4th of July.  I would LOVE to make some friends and help each other stay motivated to lose, lose, lose!!!

Thanks Papa, I finally saw a little movement in the right direction today, but I'm going to wait to "weigh in" until tomorrow to see if I let go of some of the "water".  Happy Hump Day!

Great Job this weekend guys!  We're still the reigning champs!  Special congrats to Marie on her individual win this week!  GO ORANGE!  Let's keep up the momentum!!!!

Hey there Orange! Y'all are making it difficult to chase you down! Keep up the great work! Make us work for it!

Later,
Papa

Hi Teammates! Just checking in, I had a good week this week- down 3 lbs yay! Looks like Im still on my old track off losing in spurts.  My "entourage" (my dog and 2 cats) are not liking how Im not always munching. I didnt realize how much I would snack here and there before having to add it in each day. See- I am the only one who gives in to the "entourages" begging, therefore they follow me everywhere, room to room, (they know who has the food). They have been so dissatitisfied as I leave the kitchen without treats for us all-lol. One of my cats has already given up, but my dog and other cat still follow hoping each time I will get us something-haha.

Sometimes I wonder, WHY am I always hungry? and I guess Im not, its just bored eating bc its there. Also I think I need to start taking vitamins (as Oprah says-lol) They had an expert on saying that people eat to satisfy the nutrients they need, and if you are eating empty calories, like sugar, snack, bread etc, your body will keep feeling hungry bc it has not satisfying the nutrients it needs. people who take a multivitamin eat 30 percent less each day!! Also - the more protein you eat at breakfast the fuller you will feel all day. Good to know, so I figured Id pass it along.

So I am buying some once a day vitamins today! I shouldve been taking one all along I know. Thanks Oprah!

Have a great week everyone! Off to get my kids to school now :)

Hey Gang, I seem to have hit a plateau.  I've been eating right and exercising and I'm not losing much, if any.  I looked back at my weight log and last time I was 208 it took me a month to break through it.  I wonder if that will happen again?  I hope not since this time I'm exercising so much more.  But I'm going to keep my chin up and keep going.

Bon, why knows?  Maybe Oprah is right and a multivitamin will help me blast this plateau away!

Hey everyone!  I too am hitting a wall it seems.  I managed to squeek out just 0.2 lbs lost this week.  Discouraging, but I'm not giving up.  The last 4 days have been very busy and I skipped working out.  Yesterday I got back in the game and the kids are actually going to school today after the snow storm that just dumped on us (central OH) so I can hit the gym this afternoon!  I do so much better with real people to work out with unstead of the Wii Fit trainers or watching Dr. Phil!

Keep up the good work crew!  We are all BIG LOSERS!!!Laughing

Bon - Congrats! on the loss. My two dogs still snif the floor under the table, but since we really don't eat except at the table they don't follow us around that way. You had the same realization as I did when I started counting. When I started counting and writing everything down I was close to 4500 calories a day! I am now barely eating 2000 calories. That is exactly it, you are bored and you end up snacking on something. Taking a multi-vitamin is a good idea, I take one each day. I have heard about eating for the nutrients, but what I heard pertains more to kids than to adults. For breakfast, I would say fill up on more fiber than protein. The fiber is what makes you fill full longer, protein will help repair your muscles that you work through the day so it is better eating at dinner.

Jodi - Plateau's I have found are a fact of life in weight loss. I think I have finally broke mine after 9 months. I am one pound away from 270, granted I was having knee problems but now I am getting back to that point. Just remember if you do let that chin drop and start slowing down or stopping...... I am right behind you polishing up my boot to give you a light tap in the backside to get back out there!

Marie - The last week may have been busy, but was it busy running from place to place or just sitting behind a desk? If it was running from place to place just think about the calories you were burning to do that. There are alot of things you may not think of that actually burn quite a few calories. Just remember walking a mile burns the same number of calories as running a mile! Having the kids home and not being able to get out does put a dampler on things, go for you on getting back to the gym. I use my Wii fit as a compliment to my workouts at the gym, 500 cals a half hour (at least for me) using the fit adds that much more to my workout, and it helps strech me out after the gym! Keep it up or I will have my other boot all polished up for you!

Keep up the hard work ladies, your Green team counterpart!

Papa

Good going team!  We're still the "overall" winners.  Let's kick it into high gear and take the WEEK 5 title too!

My plan to help bust through this plateau is to try to work in some weight lifting on my non-cardio days.

Update: still haven't added weight lifting in, but my goal is to try it on Wednesday.

Thanks Papa, I will try to start the day with more Fiber and see how full I feel. Yes I absolutely think I also ate 4-5 thousand cals a day, not kidding! Im surprised I didnt get bigger than what I am, its the counting that makes me stop and think "no, I really dont want to have to add this in" lol

I am also a grab and go type person, so this is why my pets like to follow me, I always have something good, they will actually wake from a nap when they see me cooking something to come watch me, I always have an audience-haha.

Thats great we are the overall winners still! I noticed 5 of our team members are not weiging in (more than the other teams) we need to track their butts down! But for those of us that are still in it, GOOD JOB!

Greetings from the green team!

Just came across this awesome and inspiring video from a CC member, and I thought you guys may like to have a look:

topanga1485 thought of making this video to thank the support she gets at CC. She got under 200 lb after 5 years and she does an adorable happy dance at the end of the video. Her thread is:

hope you like it too.

Thanks for posting the link to the video.  It was great!  I can't wait until  I reach 199 too.  ONly 7lbs to go!

I need some help guys and since we're all part of the orange team I thought I could come here.  I've been working at this weight loss for three years now and this past week I was ready to throw in the towel and just be fat the rest of my life.  After talking with some family I've decided that quitting isn't an option.  I'm giving it another go but what I could really use is some motivation to keep at it.  Any suggestions, success stories, or tips would be appreciated.

Hey morningsend! Don't throw in the towel! It's a tough journey, and you probably know better than anyone else after 3 years. I finally got back on track on May last year and I've lost a bit over 70lb. Some weeks, better say months are terrible, with no loss and sometimes even gain. It sucks, but I stuck to it. I really want to be healthy. I'm 44 yo, so it's supposed to be downhill from here! LOL. But I decided to be the healthiest I can be to feel good about myself sure, but mostly to avoid illnesses associated with obesity and ageing. I've never felt better in my life, finally with a BMI below 30, I'm trying to always keep in mind how good I feel now compared to what I felt at 255lb. Yeah, surely I have set backs when I want to forget it and have that brownie, but then I look at my pictures of before to get a fresh reminder of why I'm doing this now. Keep strong and exercise! I don't know your routine but exercise is very important for your succes, not to mention it's an excellent mood booster for those down days. My calorie intake has been around 1600-1800, which is quite high, but still possible for weight loss when you workout. On days I can't go top the gym I do the 30day shred DVD from Jillian Michaels, which is a 20min workout of strength training, cardio and abs. I'm happy with it as are many other people who have been doing it. I strongly recommend it. Indeed, giving up isn't an option. Let's keep on doing this!

Morningsend, don't give up.  You've done so much and been doing this too long to go back to where you came from.  Look at some "before" photos of yourself.  Do you really want to look like that again?  Picture in your mind the person you want to be.  Then try something new...a new recipe, a new workout dvd, a new lipstick.  Just keep things fresh and new.  I think when we get in a boring routine or rut we tend to feel like falling off the wagon.

It's taken me 2 years to take off 50 lbs and I've still got at least another 50 to go.  Some days it seems impossible, but I figure I've done it once so I know I can do it again.

Chin up sweetie!

sorry guys... the month long plateau continues...

Boo! bad week for me, I think I GAINED a pound, thats what that dang scale said today. I figured it was lying so I will double check tomorrow before i actually lock in the gain. TOM is coming anyday now so maybe???

Anyway, I also found some really scary site that doesnt have anything to do with this, but it is broadcasting our posts on the internet. Along with any other info we have, mortgages, stuff like that, it is MUCH more detailed than zabasearch or peoplefinder. Its kind of uncomfortable to know its there.

Look up pipl.com and type in your name- see what Big Brother has on you too!

You can also type your username (from here) and theres ALL of our POSTS!!

Try your email address too- it will tell you lots of stuff about you.

Im not liking it!!

Bon, that is scary.  Too scary for me to even look.  I'm like an ostrich with my head in the sand.

Kjmadill, sorry to hear about the plateau.  that sucks.  Try switching things up a bit, if you can.  Eat at different times of the day, work out at different times, or try something new.  Sometimes that can make a difference.

I lost a little this week (less than 1/2 a lb), but I went away for the weekend so I'm just happy I didn't gain.

Nevertheless ORANGE remains a FORCE to be reckoned with!

Oh god, here I am wondering where others are and I didnt record my weight this week!! so sorry guys, my computer crashed, i lost sooo many things and got it up and running yesterday again. So I will weigh in tomorrow for this week. Promise!!

Hope everyone is doing well.
