I get bloated, badly, after nearly every meal or snack. Even somehting small, such as a 1/4 of prunes or a granola ba will cause my stomach to bulge. I first noticed this about a year ago, and I beleive it was the cause of my ED. Does anyone have an idea of why this is happening to me and how I could lessen it or stop it?
The body produces gas as it digests food -- it is actually a good sign of health if you are gassy. I don't know why some people are gassier than others. My mom will crack one off at any moment of the day, and yet I've never experienced my father having gas once.
To avoid bloating, avoid foods high in sodium and processed sugar. Fiber can also cause bloat. There are also things you can take to help, such as the pill Beano, to help reduce gas-caused bloating.
i bloat after every meal also.
it absolutely sucks, and makes you feel like never eating again.
I'd see a gastroenterologist (GI specialist) to run some tests and make sure everything is working a-ok. My bloating has lessened after a year of being on medication for super-slow digestion.

Well you may have gotten the 'bulge' from the prunes because prunes have tons of fiber. Added fiber often means added gas.

Prunes-at least the ones I eat- have only 2 grams of fiber. I also have been watching sodium and usually get under 1500mg a day. I eta a pretty healthydiet rich in fruits and veggies, and I barely ever eat processed sugars.

I have also found that my bloating has lessed if I suck in while I eat, making my stomach really firm. It really helps during snacks, but does barely anything during meals.
My sister used to bloat so much that people often asked her if she was pregnant. She was eventually diagnosed with Candida Alba and went on a strict anti candida diet drinking Aloe Vera and taking other pills I can't remember the name of. My niece did the same. It helped them both and a by product was loss of weight.
fruit and veggies are full of fibers, which can make you bloated - some people find that cutting back on wheat in all shapes helps, as they have gluten allergy, and/or intolerance...
you may have an allergy to gluten, which is in almost EVERYTHING. i do, and when i found out and did some major tweaking, my bloating stopped. also make sure you're drinking lots of water
Salt and heavy carbs make me bloaty. I stopped eating pasta, rice, oats and bread and the bloating has stopped. I don't eat large heavy meals and that certainly has made a difference with digesting food. I also take a super enzyme with lunch and dinner, they seem to be helping digest my food better.
I also drink 2+ liters of water daily and it really helps.
