Bloated/supplements/Fiber?---Worth it?!

Quote  |  Reply

So, I'm taking fiber supplements as a way to help me lose some weight. BUT it makes me SO gassy and bloated, that's the fiber right??

I only ate 650 calories today, everything healthy, and I worked out a lot. Maybe I'm not drinking enough water. I HATE being bloated!! I cant move..I look all gross. 120 lbs. I need to be 105 lbs again ( that's when I was truly happy)

Another side question:
What's interval training, I heard it helps A LOT with your last few lbs.

Thanks guys!!! :D

I doubt that anyone on this site will define your eating 650 calories in a day as "healthy."  Especially if you're working out a lot.  It's not healthy at all and the only way you're going to stop the yo-yo weight gain/loss you been doing is to learn how to respect your body and eat healthy.

It also probably wouldn't hurt for you to learn how to be happy with yourself regardless of whether you weight 105 or 120.  15 pounds more or less does not define happiness.

My suggestion is to double your caloric intake. You really should.

Read the basic FAQs of this website and you'll learn that what you're doing is very unhealthy. 650 calories cannot sustain you; your body will start clinging to what little fat you have instead of burning it.

And interval training is when you make use of short stints of anaerobic exercise followed by longer stints of aerobic exercise. The most common example is when running. Sprint 30 seconds, jog 1 minute, sprint 30 seconds, jog 1 minute... etc, for about 30-45 minutes or until failure.

This is a pretty good fat burning routine, but like I said, not if you're eating as little as you are.

okay I definitely agree that you need to up your cals, but also remember if you are increasing your fiber intake you should be drinking more water as well...and depending how much more fiber you are taking in possibly you should be drinking alot more water to counter balance. good luck!

starvation mode can make you gain weight before your body starts breaking down. Women need AT LEAST 1200 calories a day just to function. PLEASE read up more on this....check out what your BMR is (basic metabolic rate) and eat at least that many calories. If you are working out, then you should be fine.

Yea, fiber tends to make me a bit gassy as well. But I drink water and it helps a bit.

Please please please up your calories....650 is (in my opinion) borderline anorexic.
