Bloating...

How can this be avoided?

I am eating relatively small portions because my body is getting used to not eating SO much at a time, but sometimes I feel bloated and overly full (even though I didn't eat much) and my stomach pushes out and it's very uncomfortable. I try rolaids (which has helped in the past) and lots of water, but is there anything else I can eat / drink / take to avoid so much of it?  It also interferes with my eating.  I am hungry, but so bloated that I can barely eat.

Drinking water can help, so you've got the right idea there...

What kinds of food are you eating?  If you're eating foods that are very salty, you'll retain more water.  But if you're eating lots of veggies, could you be reacting to the fiber?  I know that when I eat a lot of vegetables, I tend to get a little bloated myself!
