bloating soooooo BAD!
ugh after gaining about a pound, my stomch feels horrible after every meal i eat and it wont go away. im not even hungry when i wake up for breakfast anymore so i try to have like a high cal shake with nuts to get the cals in. im eating dense foods and all so i can get the cals in but does anyone know when this will go away or your experience with it? also is there anything i can do (besides tea and pills) to help this! ive tried mint green tea and the honey kind but neither work, i hate the taste of chamomile, and ive tried pills my moms given me and no luck there either. im not really able to take walks after my meals since this is a tough week in school and all i can do it focus onmy school work after my meals. any suggestions? maybe i could make time in for some excersise i could do in front of my computer that would help. any suggestions would be great, thanks!
Hi,
I read an article once and it said that:
- Fennel Seeds
- Ginger
- Parsley
- Peppermint
- Pineapple
- Yogurt with Honey
Helps debloat and keep your tummy feeling flater. I never tried it myself ( well I can't really say that because every morning I drink a peppermint tea - with honey about 30 minutes after breakfast and I eat a yogurt every morning.)
I hope this helps a little bit! Good Luck!
As well as your high-calorie foods make sure you're getting plenty of fluids and also vegetables and fruit because it sounds like your digestion is a little sluggish. You don't need herb or green teas if you don't like them - you could drink squash, fruit juice, regular tea/coffee or water. Eat 'little and often' rather than overloading your digestion with heavy meals. A ten minute walk after your meals will help your digestion.... even if you're busy at school 10 minutes isn't going to affect your work.
If you've gained a pound and you're feeling a little bloated it's likely to be fluid retention rather than genuine weight-gain. So keep the calories up and just work through it... your body will grow accustomed shortly.
If I recall and correct me if I am wrong but you were still undereating before so may I ask what your calories are at? If you are still not eating enough that can cause digestion problems and of course increasing from undereating does to till your body adjusts. I know you stated you were having other symptoms like bruising, eyes and so I really encourage you to go back to your doctor or if that one is not taking this serious to find another. If then you still have stomach issues but are stable give yourself time. Get your calories to a good range, try to have meals every few hours, and remind yourself it takes time to feel better
Have you ever been tested for food allergies or sensitivities? I know my issue was with wheat and gluten. Since cutting it out of my diet I no longer have the bloating, cramps and pain after every meal. And it's not really all that hard, it actually forces you to eat "cleaner". Just a thought.
Last summer, I was getting severe stomach pain and bloating. At first I just thought I was imagining the bloat (i have anorexia) but I measured my stomach before & after I had eaten, and It had grown an obscene amount. At the time, I was seeing a nutritionist who liked to use alternative methods. First she gave me peppermint oil pills to help with indigestion and acid reflux. This helped so much. The only side effect was I would occasionally burp up mint, which wasn't awful or anything, and it went away over time. To help the bloat, she gave me Zinlori 75( http://www.metagenics.com/products/detail.asp ?pid=225 ). This helped SOOO much. It's a special formulation of zinc, so it's all natural and can't hurt you. I tried over the counter stomach meds (pepto bismal, tums, zantac, etc) and nothing worked either. You can find these meds at natural health stores I think, or online. I
Another thing that helped was "digestive yoga", poses I found online to aid digestion/fight bloat. Some of these have helped me http://www.helpforibs.com/yoga/poses.asp#pose s
Also, have you tried using a heating pad? The warmth really makes me feel better.
Wow what awesome replies! :)
I used to work in a health shop and what you guys have all mentioned here are top class... I can't offer any more advice. :)
Maybe try also gently massaging your tummy when it starts to bloat - you will most prob hear it start gurgling and then you might let off some wind. But that is absolutely aokay!
For me - when I first started looking after what I was eating, my stomach used to bloat big time after each meal, was extremely uncomfortable. I would actually be too scared to eat as I would have a flattish stomach in the morning and even if I ate a piece of fruit my stomach would just expand! hahaha!
It took about 2 to 3 months for everything to settle. Now I hardly bloat at all.
Good luck!

this is helping me too! Highly reccommend.
As you know, being underweight means anything too strenuous is pretty much off limits but I do some situps and weights in the morning(about 10 mins) before breakfast which always gives me a good appetite. You won't be burning many calories as it's mainly just muscle conditioning but it should get you out of that 'i still want to sleep' mode! also try drinking a glass of water in the morning to cleanse your mouth so you feel fresher and ready for breakfast.
Other than that, think DENSE! Peanut butter is great for adding to things so you won't have to eat lots of bulky foods quite as regularly. Ooh and raisins too. hope this is helpful x
OP: Why don't you go find a corner to go cry or whine into until you re-read what you wrote. You know the answers! Pills? Good grief! Sorry, no words of encouragemt, because I won't encourage what you are doing to anyone. Yup, some people are nicer than I am. I just can't believe what I read sometimes.
