Weight Gain

So last Friday I weighed 95 pounds and today I am 108. Is this way too much weight gain too fast? I feel like a blimp honestly, but trying to stay positive.  Do I need to cut back on calories/do anything different? Advice very much appreciated :).

I know it's scary, but you're doing GREAT! If you can, try not to weigh yourself if it freaks you out. I know that I get the most obsessive and frightened and panicky when I see that little number on the screen. I'm sure your body is so excited right now to finally be getting what it needs. Keep up the good work, you're on the right track.

Oh my gosh. I am totaly in the same boat. Four weeks ago, I weighed 110. and now I weigh 130!!! It will stop eventually. When your body is healthy again. Don't cut back calories. Just keep at it. You are beautiful. :)

Good luck!

Tori, You are doing great!! Just keep eating above maintanence level and your body will thank you. I went from 94 to 122 and then have leveled a bit...please don't stress, it is coming on quickly because you lost it in an unhealthy manner. Everything will settle to where it needs to be! Keep pushing yourself!

OMG I'm so jealous!! It took me 3 months to do almost the exact same thing!

That's not helpful when the poster is concerned about it being too fast... :/

Anyway.

It's normal for initial weight gain to be very fast...just hold on, and don't cut back calories. If your body thinks its going to starve again it won't ever be able to repair its metabolism. You're doing great. :)

Dont' worry, sweetie, it's normal....I weighed 87 pounds 5 weeks ago, now I'm up at 96....yesterday though i was 100!!!! Granted...i have had quite a few sugar days thrown in, but the point is, weight fluctuates. When I first started recovery, I went from 87 to 93 in a week!!!! Crazy...but it will be ok. Just keep going on, and hey - the goal for us to keep gaining to be HEALTHY. HEALTH is more important....we have to keep on keeping on!!! Also - our bodies know what they need...we haven't treated them well what with the starving and all...so they are taking matters into their own hands now :) Let's try and trust our bodies, because goodness knows that we haven't given them reason to trust us lately! It will work out, I'm sure.

Keep up the good work, hon! you are so beautiful and such an inspiration...you deserve to be healthy and happy and you are getting there so don't give up!

My point was that I've been struggling an uphill battle to regain weight that I didn't choose to lose so that I could go back to school and work, and live my life the way I had been before getting sick.

If gaining weight is the what toridl nedds to do to become healthy again, I think she should know that for some people it physically isn't easy, no matter how much they increase their calories (like me).

So I'm very happy for you toridl, that you are able to gain weight when you want to, even if you feel like it might be too fast (which I really don't think it is), and while it's now easy physically, I hope it becomes easier emotionally for you too. Just think about how much better you feel as your body becomes healthier (more energy, warmer, more beautiful and glowing) and try not to worry about how fast the scale jumps.

After all, if you look better (healthier) and feel better about life, isn't that all that really matters?

I think you should cut back on cals !!! , that is to much weight gain.
