Okay---so i've NEVER been allowed to do this since  one of the RULES is that you have to weight 110 lb.
SOOoooo I sorta told them I did...(i weigh 91)----and gave blood---
so of course they do the usual blood pressure, iron level etc..

I've always had low blood pressure but was still surprised when she read mine and it was 80/58----------My sister is an RN and did some calculations where she added, divided etc. and told me my MPR was like 66 and as long as that number stays over 60 then the blood is properly reaching my heart, kidneys etc. SOoooo is that okay? ha ha--i feel just fine---but i was curious...
 THANK

Omg! Did it hurt alot? I want to do it next, next year (you have to be 17). And

sorry, I don't know anything about blood pressure haha. But still, were you

feeling faint after? How much did they take? LOL.

I love giving blood! I've done it 3 times and all 3 times I started feeling really faint and they kept calling someone else over to put a fan/blanket on me and tip my chair back - it was so embarrassing! The first 2 times I went, I was a normal weight but the last time I was quite skinny getting. They didn't question it, but about half way through they said it was taking too long and they were going to swap arms.. and when they asked me if I was feeling ok and I said yeah, I don't think they believed me, coz then they just took the needle out and didn't put it back in.. so then I admitted that I felt a bit faint but I would be ok to finish it.. and they said I'm not allowed back for 2 years!!

Gutted! :( I really want to do it again. I don't care if I feel ill.

I love donating blood. They give you the best cookies. :)

If you feel fine, I think it's ok. But don't do strenuous exercise for a day or two.

well, as much as giving blood feels great, they DO have the guidelines for a reason. Just be careful not to over extend yourself for awhile...and try to gain 15 pounds, seems like it would be healthier for you overall anyways! Your selflessness shouldn't be marred by the potential of you getting sick... ;)
