Blood in urine?

Quote  |  Reply

I am a 37 year old female.  I had my annual yesterday and the doctor said that there was microscopic traces of blood in my urine.   Has anyone else had this issue and what was the cause?

Thanks!

the only time i've ever had blood in my urine was due to a bladder infection. the doctor didn't tell you the cause?

Yeah - I've had that due to a bladder infection before also.

She wants to do a test in a couple of weeks to run a camera up to my bladder to check it out.   She said it was nothing to worry about.

They also say that your body will pass old blood cells out of the body that way...and given they were microscopic...but I agree why didn't that guy tell you anything like "we should run some tests" or something...or did he?

A couple weeks???  Eek.  It's probably nothing, but I'd still ask my doctor if I could get in sooner than that...of course I'm kind of a worrier.

Ever since I turned 45 it seems I always test that way.  A long progression into menopause is what My DR told me.  YUCK.  I use a lot of mini pads.

My live-in-cheating-ex-boyfriend gave me an infection that went undiagnosed for about 2 years.  I ended up with pelvic inflammatory disease, which caused my insides to swell.  I had large kidney stones, UTI, painful swelling in my woman organs and other lower abdominal organs, kool-aide red pee, and horrible ovarian cysts.

Not saying this is even close to what you have, just that it could be something more serious than not.  Even if it's nothing major it's crucial that you follow up!
