Hey Blue Team!
I know you're all as excited as I am to get started, so I figured we'd begin by introducing ourselves - names, goals, hobbies, whatever you like!
Me first: I'm Ashley, I'm 20 years old and extremely excitable as I'm sure you'll all get to know. I don't really have a goal weight; I plan on figuring it out when I get to a place where I feel most comfortable. If you want an extremely longwinded explanation of this, you can find it in my bio :P
So I guess you could say that right now my goal is to have heaps of fun with this challenge, and hopefully help you guys have fun too!
This is my first Biggest Loser Challenge, but I've looked through some of the old threads so I'm pretty sure I've got a handle on how things go. If you guys like the idea, I was thinking that we could have a little "mini challenge" within our team. I'm also participating in the Spring-Summer Slimdown Challenge (in the Weight Loss forum, if you've never come across it), and every week we have a little nutrition or exercise goal (e.g. meet your calorie deficit every day, or meet your calcium requirements every day). Let me know what you guys think!
Feel free to use this thread for... well, pretty much anything. Talk about how you feel about the challenge, get some extra motivation when you need it, and help to motivate others. Most importantly, have fun - I honestly believe that's the BEST way to stay on track.

Hi guys, I am new to TBL challenges. I have been on CC since November. I have lost weight, gained weight, lost weight...well you know the drill. Anyway, I got down to 148 which was still about 10-15 lbs from goal and then gained back up to 155. I joined this challenge to keep me on track. I am going on vacation to Barbados at the end of June and would really love to feel comfortable in a bathing suit. That is my motivation for now. My personal goal is to lose .5-1.0 a week.
I am all about numbers and science. The other day I wore my heart rate monitor all day to see how many calories I actually burn in a rather typical day. It was much less than I thought. So, now I realize that I need to exercise more and eat even less which is very hard for me b/c I love food. I eat a very healthy vegetarian diet but apparently I just eat too much.
Anyway, sorry for the long ramble. I need to get off to the gym.

could we share some of our favorite healthy/low calorie snacks and foods? I sometimes get in a rut eating the same thing everyday and then I end up blowing it because I'm sick and tired of the same things!
My current favs -
sugar free popsicles - 15 calories each
sugar free fudgesicles - 40 calories each
100 calorie kettle corn
fav sandwich -
3 egg whites, 2 pieces of whole grain bread, 1 tomato and 1-2 tbsp of flavored cream cheese. sounds weird...never saw myself as an egg white girl..but I love it and I'm really trying to get my cholesterol down.

Exams are over (for now), so hopefully I'll be a bit better at keeping track from now on. Thanks for the good luck Carly, it really came in handy :)
And as for favourite snacks, for me it really doesn't get better than blueberries. Or strawberries. Or raspberries. Pretty much anything that even remotely sounds like 'berry' puts me in food heaven. 250g of strawberries is something like 80 calories.
My sweet tooth can get slightly out of control, and anything sugar free (a.k.a. artificially sweetened) is probably just going to cause me to overeat. So when I really want a treat, I may as well make room in my calorie budget for the "real" stuff and be done with it... but I do try to limit the indulgences, so on an everyday basis sticking to fruits and natural sugars works like a charm :D
Favorite 'Healthy' foods for me would be
Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, I love to snack on almonds, fat free strawberry banana yogurt with homemade granola, and if i am craving something sweet, i eat a fudge pop...the popsicle brand makes a fudge pop....its not fat free or sugar free but its only 60 calories and it gets rid of the ice cream or chocolate craving!!
Since we have a big garden this year im pretty sure i will be living on fresh vegetables for the summer....we should be able to start picking stuff here in about 3 or 4 days so im excited!!!
hey every one i now am pretty late to introduce myself but just had my roughest week and i was either too busy or too tired
am sarah 23 yo am a med student - my final year-
i started counting march 20th and have been dieting 2-3 weeks earlier
i have lost 20+ pounds so far (217 mar 1st , 194 at the start of the challenge)
i wish i can reach 150 by christmas - BMI 25 as am 5'5"
as for the challenge it is my first and i was very excited i could join just wish i started off better - actually these 2 weeks have been my first plateau since starting-
am really happy with this team everyone seems nice and excited to make a real diffrence in their lives and i believe we have a very good shot at winning this thin - GO BLUE
i know am a competitive person - not in the bad sense of the word-
so i think this should keep me motivated
so far i have been superstrict when it comes to calporie allowance even my micro binges r planned ahead and remain within my BMR
as for exercise it is my weakness , i just find it very hard to get to the gym , but once am there i work my butt off - unfortunately not literarlly yet ;)-

Ash - I love that you posted the Smurfiest Losers! What an awesome way to motivate our team!
Carly - I'm a sucker for snacking, so I plan to eat 2-200 calories snacks a day, otherwise I'll go off the deep end. Lately it's been small sandwiches or popchips, or fiber one bars. I was on a zucchini kick for a while, but have temporarily moved on to butternut squash, which isn't as easy to snack with, until I get around to making Hungry Girl's fries made from the squash instead of potatoes.
Sarah - glad you took a moment to introduce yourself, and congrats on the weight loss so far! Competition is a great motivator for me as well - you're going to do great!
So, at the beginning of last week I screwed up my ankle pretty good, and will be in a boot for 3-4 weeks, then in a lace up brace for an additional 1-2 weeks. Exercise and dieting has been the last thing on my mind, but I was finally able to step onto the scale this morning, and I'm happy to say that I haven't gained! I figured I would have, what with not being able to cook and resorting to In-N-Out Burger and Costco pizza... I'm still having to use crutches, but hopefully this will be my last week on them - I'm not a patient person, therefore I make a terrible patient!
I hope everyone else is doing well - good luck at weigh-ins, which begin tomorrow!

I'm so going to try those butternut squash fries! I'm pretty good about not eating potatos, but when we have fries I just can't keep my hands off! I might even sneak in a few and see if the kids might like them too...sssshhhh don't tell!
I hope your ankle is feeling better...I know it has to be frustrating not being able to get around like you want!
So I've been reading a new book about the body and dieting and I'm learning alot...I haven't been able to excercise this week because of a cold (mine always settle in my lungs) but am hoping to get back into it for next weeks weigh in. I got on the scale today and hadn't lost a single thing even though I've been extremely good with my calories...I'm hoping I can drop something for our weigh in this week...We have to beat that Green team! We are Smurfs!!!

Anyways guys I've seen it now coz I had a relapse that lasted for full 5 days..... Gross...so this week I won't expect some weight loss, I just hope it won't be rised for the next weigh-in.

The numbers this week look good so far! That's right, all of them, even those that haven't changed since last week! I know it's easy to get disheartened when you don't see the results you think you deserve, but it WILL catch up to you in the end. Our bodies are weird and confusing but eventually they still have to comply with the laws of physics!
I'm living proof of that this week: I haven't really had much of a change for the past six weeks or so despite being on my best behaviour... then the past two weeks have been spent sitting at a desk studying for my exams, and then celebrating with gusto for a few days afterwards (you know how it goes)... and for some completely incomprehensible reason, I'm down about 6 pounds in the past 14 days. There is no logic in the world!:(
Sorry for the rant, but we are Smurfs, and getting discouraged isn't allowed :D The moral of the story is to keep at it. And also try remember how much cooler we are than the Green team :P

it wasnt much better for me this week but finally thanks god this morning i found am below 192 - 191.6 exactly- that is -1.8 lbs
ofcourse iwish it was more but am haPPY about it any how :)
hope my plateau is over and am gonna lose steadily again

Hi Smurfs! I was reading your posts and you are all doing sooo good. I feel so bad, just know I am going to have a bad weigh in, memorial weekend ya know... didnt log anything so god knows!! also last week I didnt lose anything and got discouraged so went a little crazy, I promise to be good from here on out, walked 3 miles on my treadmill today so I can catch up and plan to make this a part of my daily routine, also TOM is due any day and when I checked my scale today I was actually up 2 lbs!! wah!! big reality check.
Anyway- please bear with me smurfs, I had a weak week. But Im determined to make up 4 it.

Hi again everyone, Well I weighed in today for this week and I didnt gain those 2 mysterious pounds..lol. But I didnt lose either (this time I know why) So I am still at the exact same weight again. This week i plan to budge that scale some. Wish me luck!
Well, i weighed in 2 pounds lighter than last week which is great news b/c when i weighed in 2 days ago it said i was still 200.5! I am under 200! It feels great! I really think this challenge is just what i needed to begin my weight loss journey! I feel like the feeling of wanting to go into the kitchen and eat EVERYTHING is slowly getting less noticable so thats something else that is going well!!
