blushing bride---or blimping bride?!
Hello!
I'm new to this site..for the reason that I need to stay on track with this. so, hello! that aside...
I'm getting married on January 24th, (yay!)... though I bought my dress back in June...when I was probably 8 lbs lighter than I am at the moment. And I now have 17 days to make sure i "fit in" to the dress... I tried it on a few weeks ago, and it fit fine.. i was also weighing 127 a few weeks ago.. however my bodyfat % was at 26. ( :( ) (sadly, i was taking time off of the gym...) so i've gotten back to it... and now my body fat is at 23.8, which i'm happy with...but i've also gained a few pounds. (yeah yeah, "muscle weighs more than fat", but it would still be nice to remain somewhere between 125-128 and have a lower body fat %...
I've been doing turbo jam videos (they're awesome!!) the ab workout, and the 20 minute workout, and started doing the treadmill again at a high incline and speed. i know how to get the gradual results that take months to attain...but my issue lies with the fact that i only have 17 days to make sure this dress still fits without all those little buldges popping out around my armpits/back! actually, i'd like to make sure it zips up!
is anyone else going through this issue right now? i've started myself on a strict eating routine now, only fruits, veggies, almonds, and light servings of steak/chicken in hopes that this along with a lot of cardio and light strength training will do the trick...but i feel a little depressed with it all.
recovering from years of eating disorders, i find the easy way to just run to the drug store and find the pills that used to work for me, but i know better than that now (thankfull!). i just think i'm having a bad day, last night before going to the gym, my gym sweater felt tighter than it used to be, and this got me pretty down.
i think my rant is done! but i'm wondering, what do some of YOU do in order to stay positive and motivated? i have a little picture on my cellphone telling me not to eat junk food (i LOVE chocolate...) or else my dress won't fit. and telling me to go to the gym. (haha) and notes in my purse where my money is telling me not to buy junk food also....
side-note:
i'm not one of those girls to say "i'm so fat! i'm so fat!" (on my bad days i am like that, but that's because of issues that i have within my mind from since my teenage years...)
so, when you try on your dress now, how does it fit?
is it tight at all? if so, in what areas?
because if you've gained muscle and lost fat, i would think that even though you might weigh a little more, you'll actually be smaller than you were
is the dress loose or tight?
naturally, weddings tend to be stressful events, but it's shame that is the case
it would be so much better if you were able to enjoy every moment of that special day (instead of worrying about things like body fat % or what not)
it fits alright... well it did a couple of weeks ago. i have to try it on again by this time next week. it's not so much tight (the style of it holds pretty much everything in around the corsette area), but the uncomfortable areas are right around the armpits and upper back, making it difficult to zip up--and i'm afraid it won't zip up, or stay up...
it's a tigh fitted dress on the corsette, ballgown type bottom (one piece).
i'm trying to not worry too much about it, but any time i pass by a mirror, i start freaking out. i'm hoping it's one of those "just in my head" moments. 17 days SEEMS like a lot of time, but it's really not. ![]()
Just a thought....can you maybe do something with a different undergarment / bra? My wedding is in less than a month and the first bra that I had was really tight and it created those back lumps. A larger size bra and it fits better...thankfully the dress does too but I'm also worried about the fit come the wedding day. Maybe ask at the dress shop...the sooner, the better.
Guys are so lucky. They get measured like 2 weeks before the wedding for their tuxedos.
unfortunately (sort of unfortunately anyways..) there's no bra to be worn with the dress... it's extremely tight fitted to the torso/bust area, so there's not even room for me in it letalone a bra hahahah...
but i see what you mean... i could work around with that!
and they really are lucky... my fiance was saying how he just got his measurements taken... and i just give him this blank stare...
Try to stay positive, and try on your dress you may be freaking out for no reason. I like the idea of having little notes around ![]()
Maybe you could get a corset type thing (not sure what they are called but do know that they exist) to wear underneath to slim down your middle? Don't worry about it too much! No one will really notice your weight gain as long as your dress actually fits without any large bumps.
Being a bride is hard! My big day was 4 months ago and I swear I'm glad we only do that once in our lives lol.
I had little notes in the biscuit tin saying 'DRESS' and a photo of my dress on my phone which showed up when an alarm went off. I set the alarm for times I knew I should be able to work out e.g. getting in from work, lunchtime on a Sunday. You'll do that much running about in the next 3 weeks anyway you'll be burning cals like there's no tomorrow.
Have an amazing day x
i love the putting notes in the cookie tin saying "dress" hahahaha it's to the point, and effective! :)
i can't really wear a corsette under it, as there's no room for anything under the top part.. and the top of the dress, is actually like a corsette itself...(unfortunately, it's a zip up, not a tie up.... so if i gain weight, that zipper's going no where!)
i'm hoping it's not too bad... i haven't gained a lot of weight, but a bit... i'll see when i try it on i guess... *crosses fingers* .... . and well let's HOPE it's only once in our lives! :)
