The (majority of) BMI calculators you find online are intended for adults that have finished growing.  The Center for Disease Control has this post here on BMI calculations and interpretations for children and teens.  If you are really curious, talk to your parents about setting up an appointment with a nutritionist.

Also, if I am reading your post properly, you are 67.5 inches tall?  I surely hope you are just curious about your BMI for a school project as you certainly don't need to lose any weight for health reasons, especially at your age.

The usual problem is that some calculators don't use the fractional part of the height. Your BMI is 17.1 kg/m2.

Ok thank you very much!

Bassline.

The usual problem, is that you are too young with a totally different body composition and body fat needs to use adult calculators.

The plain and simple fact is that as a 15 year old, you do not use the same interpretations that adult calculators supply.  And even IF you did, you would fall into the "underweight" catagory for women.

I really encourage you to talk to your parents if you feel like you need to lose weight and see a children's nutrition expert.  A doctor will be able to tell you for certain what sort of nutrition you need right now and help you with your weight.

underweight..

Yes.  An adult BMI under 18.5/19 is catagorized as underweight.   So regardless, seeing a nutrition expert would help you gain weight in a healthy manner.

This is probably the most appropriate calculator for you http://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/bodycomp/bmiz2.html

If you input your stats you'll find the result is that you have a BMI of 17.2.  As the site says 'Although being thin could be perfectly normal for this girl, she could potentially be at risk of being underweight, particularly if she has recently lost weight or stopped gaining weight'

You'll also see from the chart what is an appropriate calorie intake for someone your size and activity level.  If you're reasonably active it's anywhere between 2140 and 2460 cals a day.

To work out whether being thin is 'perfectly normal' for you ask yourself a) are you getting 2000-2500 cals a day? and b) are your periods regular?  If the answer to either of those is 'no' then you probably need to gain some weight.

I can assure you me wanting to find out my BMI is totally innocent- but i appreciate your concerns all the same.  Thank you again :)

your period is an excellent indicator, when I was 16 i dropped to low and my period became irregular which was my signal to gain.
