BMR or calorie counts advice
Heya I was wondering my BMR is 1400 but calorie count suggests 1200. Im 5ft 4,21 y F 125 lbs just wondering how quickly will I lose on 1400 ( mostly sedetary,some walking). Would I be best to go for 1200? At the same time Im trying to stop the binge crash diet situation as this time I want to lose weight and keep it off.
Wellll... I can't say what you should do, but CC gave me 1200 at one point when I was experimenting with figures etc, which is stupid (no offence to the calculator!) because at 1200 I'm looking at bingeing within days... so I'm using best judgement + experience, to do 1500 cals + a day off, where I'll probably be eating >2000 cals once a week.
I've already dropped a few pounds before coming here on 1500, feel perfectly fine, and not tempted to do anything crazy like tuck into an entire packet of biscuits.
If you've had issues with bingeing/crash dieting you need to avoid those long term more than you need to do anything else really, because that'll stall your weightloss, mess up your bod and make you feel dreadful, imo anyway! ![]()
Don't forget as well, your BMR is literally the minimum caloric cost to keep your body alive, it's not a guideline on dieting as such.
