Well here at my (women's) college it is Body Acceptance Week, aka Love Your Body Week! So I wanted to spread the love over here at CC.
Most of us here have not accepted our bodies. We are actively trying to change our bodies, which for many of us is great for our health and lifespan but not so good for our mental health. We restrict ourselves from eating food that is yummy, we run ourselves ragged at the gym, and we put ourselves down when we don't stick to our diet plan. If we take a step back and accept some of the things about our bodies that we cannot change, then we can better focus on the things that we can change, and be healthier people overall!
On this post I hope that people will write three things:
1) Something about your body that you love!
2) Accept something about your body that you cannot change.
3) State something kind that you will do for your body this week.
I will start!
1) I love my butt! I have a really round, cute butt and I love it, even if it's a little flabby at the moment!
2) I accept that my back is injured and that there is no quick fix. That I will have to wait and give it time to heal. I also accept that I have a really short torso and therefore there are some yoga poses that I just can't do.
3) This week I will soak in a nice hot bubble bath! For my poor back. Furthermore, I will eat amazing French food in celebration of my birthday tomorrow, and I will not feel guilty.
Okay everyone, love your bodies!

This is a really beneficial exercise. Thanks!
1) Something about your body that you love!
-my arms, shoulders and yes, my belly (it's startin' to get cuter)
2) Accept something about your body that you cannot change.
-baaad knees
3) State something kind that you will do for your body this week.
-deep tissue massage

Wow, great idea!
1: Something about your body that you love!
~I love my eyes, and my calves.
2: Accept something about your body that you cannot change.
~Bad wrists/arms (very carpal tunnel prone, I've had CTS for years)
3: State something kind that you will do for your body this week.
~Get as much sleep as possible, take big, deep breaths several times daily, stretch, ice my wrists!!

Awesome idea...
1. I love my arms... they're toned and even though I've put on weight, they still show how strength and definition
2. Accept something I can't change... how my metabolism has suddenly slowed down to a crawl, making weight loss a struggle
3. Something kind I'm going to do for my body is a massage that I'm booked for tomorrow morning... and am I ever looking forward to that after the aches and pains of just starting back at the gym this week.

I agree, this is a very good idea! :)
1) I love my legs. They're kinda on the flabby side right now, but I had 6 years of marching band, which gave me some killer calf muscles that I still thankfully have most of! Plus they still look good in jeans. :)
2)I get hair on my chin and my upper lip. It drives me nutty and I hate that I have to shave it all the time...but I can accept it....that's just the way it is.
3) I'm gonna agree with mejohnst...I'm gonna give myself a nice warm bubble bath, and use lotion afterwards too! :)

1. Something about my body that i love...
i love my eyes, and lips.
2. Something about my body that i accept (or am recently trying to)
i have cellulite :(
3. Something i will do for myself
i will try and work out to get myself feeling better.. once i get myself to go to the gym it becomes regular, my self esteems boosts, and i feel energized.

1. Something about my body that i love...
I love my lips and the curves in the small of my back and my waist
2. Something about my body that i accept (or am recently trying to)
I accept that i have cellulite. I am learning to love (forcing myself to sometimes) my newfound smaller breasts.
3. Something i will do for myself
I will have a steaming hot bath before giving my body 8 hours of glorious sleep!

Wow! This is a great exercise.. I can't remember the last time I tried to think of what I like in my body..
1) I love my skin..I love the tone, coloring, smoothness and the fact that I have always had to do very less to get a certain radiant look - even when I was much heavier.
2) I hate the fact that putting on weight has caused the following problems that may not go away though Im going to try my darnedest : stretch marks around my thighs, loose skin under my chin, and adult acne *aaaargh!!* Well, I'm gonna accept what I can't change - but Im gonna try real hard for the next few years till I am convinced otherwise.
3) I'm gonna try to work in an abs workout into my regular schedule. Its long overdue and I've been slacking.
Thanks for the exercise!

I don't think I've ever heard of this week... my college doesn't have anything like it =( Considering the current issues with people's low self-esteem and distorted body image, Body Acceptance Week should be more widely practiced.
1. I like that I have small feet and hands and barely any unwanted hair - had to stop and think to come up with these =|
2. I have Vitiligo. At first I was really angry about this, but now I am able to accept it and actually acknowledge that I am lucky and have a very mild case. I am also an apple shape that will forever have to struggle with the too-tight-on-waist-great-butt or waist-fits-great-where-did-butt-go dilemma. I've accepted it, and I am still currently searching for THE pair of pants.
3. Regardless/specially that the week has been and will continue to be extremly stressful, I will continue to exercise regularly. I will also tame my glutony, and will not "binge."

GREAT idea:
1. I love my upper back; I've been swimming regularly almost 2 years and have toned and developed them quite nicely.
2. Will never have 'slim' hips, cuz my pelvic bones are just wide there. I will accept them as 'curvy'.
3. Keep on working out; just love the feeling afterwards. Swimming, elliptical, treadmill, spinning.....soon it will be bike and in-line skating season!

So true, so true--we are so mean to ourselves sometimes! Here goes!
1. I love my curves--mostly around my hips and butt. I have a woman's shape, and it is sexy!
2. My hair--it's curly/frizzy/wavy and it is what it is
3. Do some yoga without interruptions so I can stretch and relax--I won't push myself, just go with the flow.

1) Something about your body that you love!
I love my face. Hard.
2) Accept something about your body that you cannot change.
My pasty skin that blinds on-coming traffic and causes major raod collisions.
3) State something kind that you will do for your body this week.
I'm going to take two days off from the gym instead of one.

I am going to try this but it is pretty hard to come up with things that I like...
1) Something about your body that you love!
I am tall and while I never liked that when I was a kid, its a big advantage now as an adult. I can reach things on the top shelf!
2) Accept something about your body that you cannot change.
I have stretch marks... ugly ones that I really feel self concious about. I cannot change them, so I guess I have to live with them. And I have big hips/thighs that will NEVER go away...
3) State something kind that you will do for your body this week.
Get more sleep - I am already doing better with this. Do something FUN this weekend - like go out with friends, visit family - just SOMETHING other than staying in all the time.

1. I love my smile!!!
2. I accept that I have stretch marks that will never completely go away.
3. This week I will pamper myself a manicure and a long soak in the bathtub!

1. i like my smile and lips, and am happy that i have a small waist (comparatively!) (totally a pear shape)
2. i will always have thick arms and legs. thanks mom. i have the problem that any pants that fit through the thighs are too big at the waist. grrr.
3. hmm....keep exercising! maybe on saturday night or sunday i will take a long soak in the tub with a book, music, candles, and bath salts! i've never used 'em before

I like my smile. It always attracts people. I like my breast. I think they are awesome. I hope they don't go anywhere.
2) Accept something about your body that you cannot change. I hate my hips. I think they are so big and ugly. But I am coming to love them especially since they won't go away. My mom said even when I was at my smallest I was still hippie.
3) State something kind that you will do for your body this week.
I am going to go swimming. I am going to sleep. I am also going to make sure it has plenty of water.

I have to admit that I came into this post hoping about how I hate my body and that will never change... but after reading the thread, I realize that there are somethings I do like about my body.
1) I like my neck. (my boyfriend says its sexy *blush*)
2) I have to accept something about my mind....its part of my body...I have to accept that I will always think I am fat, even if I am at a healthy or too low weight. Upon accepting this I also accept that I will always struggle to feel good about my body, but those shining moments when I do are worth all the work.
3) This week, and hopefully every week, I am not going to put any junk into my body, this includes alcohol, fried food, and food high in refined sugar.

you have awesome timing!!!! this fits perfectly in with my life. today i am (if you havent seen a post on this already by me:P) not counting cals anymore and accepting myself and going back to sports!
1) i love my eyes. they are green and pretty. even with glasses 8-D
2) i can't change the fact that i am short, so i won't have the "tall skinny model look". but i think im getting to be ok with that - finally.
3) well, i decided to stop counting cals and just eat healthy so thats good. also now that i am not supposed to eat certain foods on a meal plan i will be able to eat more fruits and veggies. yay!
