Weight Loss

So the weirdest thing has happened over the last three days.... I haven't been hungry! It seems like after a month of counting cals and keeping a defecit, my body's finally adjusted to the lower intake and realized it doesn't need the excess food it always used to get!
Watch me bite my words tomorrow though... knock on wood... come on body, stay adjusted! =)
The only bad news is that now that I'm less hungry, I'm finding I don't want to eat as much (duh), so I have some excess cals to fill up in the evening.... and when i'm not really really hungry, it's so easy to reach for some high-cal peanut butter or cookie dough instead of some fruit and veggies. Yep, seems like there's always a new challenge with this weight loss deal. =)

Isn't that the craziest thing? A few weeks after lowering my cals, I would have a meal every once in a while that was more like my old intake...I would get SO sick! It's crazy how quickly your body adjusts.
I'm glad it is just not me that it happens to! On Saturday Hubby and I were traveling, and ate at Burger King, for the first time in months. Later that night I awoke to horrible, horrible stomach cramps. I feel like my body just couldn't handle all the fat/calories! Needless to say, I won't be doing that again! EWW!
I'm in the same boat when I first started I was hungry al the time now I get full on half a lean cuisine and have to force myself to eat the rest.
If someone had told me a month ago that I wouldn't be hungry eating 1500 cals, I would have laughed in their face. And then continued eating. =)
Im with tina, lol.....and the kids grabbled Krispy Kreme donuts at church yesterday and the smell about made me gag....good thing they ate them quickly. So, umm, why didnt I make healthy choices sooner? Everything tastes better.
I give myself a free day once a week if I eat totally clean the entire week. Free day was this past Saturday and I ate a hamburger and fries, and afterward I felt so sick. It's almost not worth it now. Yes, it tastes good and it feels guilt free because I've been so good all week, but the actual pain of it, almost isn't worth it now. Fun to look forward to, but afterward? Nah......
I'm starting to crave healthy things as much as unhealthy things now. Like cherry tomatoes and yogourt with cereal have replaced french fries and ice cream!
Yep, my body "got used to" low amoutns of food. I couldn't handle it tho - the amount started to fall below 1000 before exercise. My metabolism began to die down, so I've had to kick it all back up again. Its still hard.
But I def. crave healthier food (except the odd piece of chocolate!)

this is so true! i've had about 1350 cals today and i feel fine... not hungry at all.
I'm glad my stomach has gotten smaller. Now if I could just convince myself to stop testing its limits :-P . Thursday when we went out to eat, I was already full after eating dinner, yet I convinced myself I had room for dessert. Well, for such a small piece of pie, it sure gave me a huge tummy ache! Next time I'm eating out and want the dessert, I'll remember to doggie-bag half the meal so I have room :-P .
I know! Today I brought a Michelina's Lifestyles microwave meal to lunch for work. Before I started couting calories, I would eat all 280 calories of that plus a couple slices of bread to fill me up. Today, I brought an apple for desert and ate that with my meal. Now I'm stuffed! Should have saved the apple for the afternoon.
Oh well, it's all part of the learning process.

Yep, some days I'm hungrier than others...
Gotta tell ya...I'm looking forward to some sort of body adjustment. Right now it seems like no matter what good food choices I make I'm just always hungry!
I hope your body stays adjusted!

I agree with everyone, I've only been counting calories for 2 weeks and it's true your body does adjust to the lower calories. I still need my sweets though so instead of regular cookies i eat the 100 cal. chips ahoy and there just as good probably better. Try them and see! (if u still have the cravings for sweets).
I'm always hungry!!!! But then again, I find it takes me a lot less to feel full. I guess the always hungry is my metabolism - which has finally found it's way out of PARK and into DRIVE :) My biggest challenge has been the psychology of eating - realizing that I can't eat the same portions that I used to. When I first started, I'd find myself with a stomach ache because I'd think "I've always eaten this much, this is what I need to be full" I'd eat everything on my plate and find myself feeling really uncomfortable. I've learned to eat smaller portions, eat slower, and learn to listen to my stomach when it tells me I'm full. If that means I need to have a spoonful of peanut butter (mmmm......peanut butter) before I go to bed to make it to my calorie allotment for the day, then so be it. There's nothing like a little sweet treat before bed :)
GOOD my body isn't going crazy! haha I've been experiencing a similar thing the past weeks... I just don't want to eat nearly as much as I used to anymore! And I've found that those times I feel like I am super hungry... I'm really not! If I eat just about half as much as my "super hungry" cravings tell me to, drink 2 cups of water, and then wait 20 minutes or so, my body is already almost too full! YAY!
Keep it up everyone! =D

Just pointing that reaching for the Peanut Butter is a good thing - it's a great source of good fats and protein. Just go for the regular kind and stay away from low fat ones.
Cookie dough however not so good :)

I have been on here for about a week and am still finding my feet with it all. It suggests I should have a daily intake of 1445 calories per day but im finding that I am not hungry all that much and my intake is always between 900 and 1200 per day. If I carry on this way will my body store the food and I wont loose weight or is it ok to just eat this amount of calories a day??
I'm having the same trouble as VictoriaFalls. I end up eating more at night than I would like because I didn't get enough calories during the day and then have to eat up all these excess calories.
Also, I'm finding that I'm eating as much as I ever did, it is just better food (I've been a take out junkie) so by all the sites tools, I'm having trouble getting all 1200 calories.

I know it's been a while since the last post on this thread but I have the same problem as michellewit. I get to the end of the work day around 650 cals, then go exercise. I get home with about 2 hrs to shower, cook, scarf down 600 cals, and clean before I go to bed. I've thought about upping my calories during the day but I'm not hungry and also I like to save them "just in case" :-/
The one good thing is, I always get dessert! :) But I read on here in another post that sweets eaten late in the day turn into fat more than sweets eaten early because you can burn those off. Is that true?
