Has anyone heard of this thing called a Body Bug?

It's supposed to get you a better reading of how many calories you are buring every day. It seems really cool but I'd love a few user reviews to know for sure!

i know my gym and trainer are really trying to push this it is expensive, they say though it is 99% accurate and you even wear while you are sleeping. i have never tried it though so if you do let everyone know. k
Yeah, my trainer swears by them, but I haven't tried it yet. Part of me doesn't really want to wear something on my arm all the time like that, but he says that it's really small. It looked like the black team on Biggest Loser was wearing them, though!
I had one, paid about $500 for it and used it for 2 weeks.
It was worth seeing how my body worked in calorie burn, but thats all I needed. After that, it was boring and useless to me.
Plus you dont just pay for the piece; you have to buy the online service to upload the bugg to see your calorie burn.
So I think the concept was very cool and definitely helped, but not worth $500 at all. Save your money.

Sorry to say I have not used one although I know are looking for people who have. My suggestion though is to get a RMR test that at least around here is about 50.00. The test tells you how many calories your body burns a day so it's not just an estimate like the tool on this site. Then they can give you instruction on how many calories to decrease and all that. I use my heart rate monitor that comes with a free site to download your files. My polar heart rate monitor was only about 120.00 and gives me all the information I feel I need. If you don't have one already you should look into one. I saw the body bug but don't want to pay a monthly fee as well as wearing something like that all the time. I figure if you do your calorie log, get the resting metabolic rate test, and a heart rate monitor you should easily be able to figure out what you need to do to lose weigh.
where the heck can you get and RMR test?! I've been trying to find out for ages now.
Not sure if they have one in your area, revolution3, but in my area, my gym partners with a place called target metabolism...

It is something that I have considered, but I feel like at this point, I still need to work on my self-control and willpower. Paying someone to tell me the magic number to eat may still not bring results until I decide for ME that healthy eating is right for ME on a day to day basis.
Thanks for the feedback! $500 is a lot but the idea behind it is really cool. Maybe gyms will start looking into programs where people can rent them for a couple of months to get an idea of how many calories they burn during different activities? I've been to sites like that target metabolism one and they are helpful but I always feel like they aren't really giving me an accurate picture. Having something that can effectively I am working at each activity seems like it would be so helpful, even if I only had it for about a month.
