Okay, so i am NOT looking to loose weight at all, but i am very into nutrition etc, and want to major in nutrion and fitness in college. i have done research on the Body Bugg, and am totally intruiged. i really want to buy one, and being at $250 for everything riight now, i could afford it. but i have a few ?s if anyone could help.

1) does it work on machines at the gym?

2) how about when you sleep?

3) or show any difference when you are sick/ill due to fever because of increased needs to fight the illness?

4) can you use it on more than one individual?

5) would the arm band even fit someone who is not overweight?

sorry for the list of ?'s, it is not quite 20, but i could probably get it up there? thanks in adnvance for taking time to answer my long list... :)

1.  Its great to use on a machine because it tells you how many calories you burned while working out.

2.  You don't wear it when you sleep, the program assumes you burn about a calorie per minute when sleeping

3.  I assume if you're really burning more calories while sick it would track that.

4.  I think it would be hard to use it on more than one person at a time, because its based your height and some other factors you tell the accompanying program

5.  Yes a person who's not over weight can wear it, you just have to fool with the velcro strip to make it the right size.

I bought a used one off of ebay.  I had a few problems getting it set up, but its been worth it (although sometimes depressing how few calories I actually burn).

Great! thanks for the information! really helped, i think i am caving... ;)

The Body Bugg was designed to be used on an individual basis, not shared.  When you log in, it assumes that the information collected for the day was for one person and I don't think you'd get the best benefit from it all if you're trying to figure out whose calories counted in what time period and then what your individual burn was when the other person was wearing it.

It comes with different sized arm bands.  As I recall, the bands generally last about a year before becoming so grody that you just want to replace it.

just curious, can the body bugg be worn on, say your calf? or somewhere less descreat than your arm?

Nope. the new v3 has to be worn on the left upper arm, but it is so tiny that you hardly notice it. the older versions were worn on the right arm, but were much bulkier.

i just broke down and bought mine, it comes in a week! i will post how it works if anyone wants to know! :D

I love my Polar F6 heart rate monitor. I had a toss up between the body bugg, and the polar F6. The F6 runs you about $115, while the body bug is $250. The polar F6 is worn on your wrist, so you can constantly look at your heart rate, the calories burned, and how long you have been working out. The body bugg is worn on  your upper arm making it hard for you to see all that handy information.

That's why I picked the F6.

But I hope you like your bugg!
