Body Bugg

Has anyone tried this thing?  It's crazy expensive, and as my boyfriend pointed out, "you're already doing exactly what it does for free".

I'm curious, though, whether anyone has tried it, if anyone know exactly how it works, if it works, etc...

THAT LOOKS AWESOME! Wonder if it works, I was hoping they would make something like this forever!

I don't know why the link doesn't work....

I know, doesn't it look amazing?  But HOW can it do what it says?  Maybe it's like Lindsay Lohan's alcohol monitoring anklet!  Ha ha.  That's what I thought of, though.  :)

Reason: Activated link. Thank you!
Funny, I just came across this site this afternoon.  Looks interesting but sounds too good to be true.
MUST HAVE NOW!

Still wonder if it works.

So how is this different than using calorie count with a heart rate monitor?

$399 US dollars if you order the device and 3 months of the program.  $199 if you just order the 3 months of the program without the armband...can't quite tell if the armband includes the device or not.
Ooooh, that IS neat!  How much is it though?  I couldn't find prices... not that I could afford it anyway, but one can dream!  LOL

Good thing we have CC which is FREE!
A coworker has one - He bought his through 24 hour fitness - prices range from $200 - $400, he loves his - all the trainers wear them.

I really really really really really want one.
Kelly,

Did you co-worker say if its accurate or not - or if it even works?
Go moonlight for 24 hours fitness...probably comes with the job.
My cousin used the body bugg system and lost 40lbs within about 3 months.  It works because it has sensors that touch your skin and monitor your heart rate, body temp, etc throughout the day.  That information is transmitted (or uploaded - I'm not sure of the right term) to a website that you can input your daily intake and activities onto.  It's cool and it definately works but the price tag is hefty.  I'd do it if I could afford it.
So without the online program its a no-go??  The program itself is $199!  Was it accurate?
wow - i soooo want one. but the list of things i want more for the price is long ;)
my coworker loves his - says it is accurate and he wears it 24/7.
I'm totally jealous.  Not jealous enough to moonlight at 24 hour (ew), but jealous enough that I'll probably justify the expense at some point.

I checked ebay about a week ago - always go for a little over $200.
smwhipple - essentially it is a heart rate monitor with some extra bells and whistles - it's also a pedometer and a thermometer, etc.  It tracks your stats throughout the day in a timeline. You get the total burned and a graph of the days activity.   You'll be able to see that your heart rate jumped at 10:30 AM and you burned calories at a higher rate for 20 minutes (maybe you walked to Starbucks instead of drove, whatever).

Yeah - it's an overpriced toy that you don't need to be effective in your diet, but it's also a really cool toy.  The science behind it is fascinating.
According to Popgadget.net the Body Bugg is 92% accurate.
This is similar.  Do people wear their heart rate monitors all day?
That looks awesome.  I would love to know exactly what my body burns in a day.  It is very tempting but too much money, thanks for sharing though.

I have a couple friends that have them- and from what I can tell it's a lot of work. I think they were all really "gung-ho" about it at first but after a while they got tired of always having to enter all their info & half the time they would forget to wear it... I'm sure if you make the commitment it would work just fine. But from what I understand you have to be 100% w/it...

good luck!

My husband works for 24 Hour Fitness, and he has set a ton of his clients and trainers up with the Body Bugg. It's an incredibly effective tool in monitoring calories in, calories out, as well as individual activity levels throughout the day. It's easy to use too. He wears his 24/7 (not like he needs too), and my sis in law and mother in law also have one. It is a bit pricey, but so far, since my inlaws have had them, they've each lost about 15 lbs or so. Seemed to have worked for them!
