Body Fat / BMI / Weight Maintenance challenge - Starts July 21st through September 15th!

Hey, all!

Okay, so for more than 100 days, I've worked with a lot of great people to drop weight.  I've dropped a lot.

I still want to drop a little more, but only as I add muscle.  So... this is a challenge for both.  Over the next eight weeks, we:

1) Will weigh in twice a week.  Mondays and Thurdays.

2) On Mondays, we need to check body fat and BMI and see where we're at.  It doesn't matter how you measure this stuff, as long as you keep measuring it the same way over the course of the challenge.  :)

It won't be pretty.. BUT... I think it's a nice honing mechanism for those of us that are getting closer to our goal, while still working together with those that have a little more to lose.

Eight weeks!  Who's in?

Ok, so I guess I am the first guinea pig here:

  • CW: 137.06
  • GW: 120 (by November 1st)
  • BMI: 24
  • BF %: Have to find my measure tape & will input later
  • CW: 173.2
  • GW: 160
  • BMI: 25.5
  • BF %: ???  will check

Here is what I have for my numbers (after 9 days of vacation):

 

CW: 193.0

GW: 180.0

BMI: 27.7

CBF%: 16.8% (12mm on the caliper)

GBF%: < 12% (6-7mm on the caliper)

Good morning, all.  Okay, we are going to be closed in less than 12 hours but... for now, still open until the end of the day.

BF: 32.9 at the gym, 41.7 on home scale (I am not sure why there is such a different)

Ok, I will have to update this later as the new scale takes some configuration before it will tell the body fat, and I didn't have time this morning. 

Sw: 152.6 (old scale said 149!)

I am really excited about adding this new element to the challenge, because I was really hovering throughout the 42 day challenge. I am working with a personal trainer for the first time ever, and I am feeling mustle definintion so I think that must be why I am not losing much, even though I am doing pretty good with the calories.  In the past, if I've been this good for this long I see more progress on the scale.

Actually I lost six pounds last week after being stalled! So, I am doing good!

Not sure how these scales work, but my trainer helped me program the damn thing. Wish me luck. Weight watchers Scale is what I'm using until it breaks.

Can I still be in? I posted in the a.m. before I saw the new challenge.

Here is the deal with me and BMI. I have huge umm. . . Well, let's just say I am well endowed. My MD says I am healthy, every BMI calculator says that I am obese. Kind of a bummer. I can do the body fat thing and check my BMI at the gym but I don't know about getting there every Monday. I plan to go to spinning class on Tuesday, so I will have it checked then. I lost 5 lbs on the last challenge. This will be great because I need to get back on the Pilates and weight training.

    I was in your last challenge and I almost hit my goal.  This time I know I will do it.  I am doing 10 pounds this time.

    • BF %: 19% - I dont believe this figure as I had my bodyfat measured with calipers in the gym at the end of June and it was about 27.2%
