Body Fat / BMI / Weight Maintenance challenge - Starts July 21st through September 15th!

Quote  |  Reply

Hey, all!

Okay, so for more than 100 days, I've worked with a lot of great people to drop weight.  I've dropped a lot.

I still want to drop a little more, but only as I add muscle.  So... this is a challenge for both.  Over the next eight weeks, we:

1) Will weigh in twice a week.  Mondays and Thurdays.

2) On Mondays, we need to check body fat and BMI and see where we're at.  It doesn't matter how you measure this stuff, as long as you keep measuring it the same way over the course of the challenge.  :)

It won't be pretty.. BUT... I think it's a nice honing mechanism for those of us that are getting closer to our goal, while still working together with those that have a little more to lose.

Eight weeks!  Who's in?

I like to say. I'm doing great even if I'm a little bloated right now. I was asking my trainer how can I still have the same numbers, and all she can say was... Every thing must be balance somewhere. I mean. TTOM always have my weight up in the air.. Well, nothing to worry about. I've been doing hanging crunches, and its not easy at all. I normally get on this thing to just hang, but one girl got me doing a few crunches on this thing, and it really gets down in my lower abdominal wall. I really can feel it. Well, thats the end of my report. Ohk, and this morning I ran 3 miles within 15 mins.. Not the world record, but for a short woman like me, and trying to beat the wave of heat......... It will do..
Keep on Moving Every One.

lynnhaslost,

That's a killa run. 3 miles in 15 minutes. Your ranging a 5 minutes mile. That's simply amazing. Most men can't compete with that time. Keep up the good work and with the hanging crunches, your strong.

Stay fit....

Free_Style, Thanks, I don't see nothing special about that run, but I was trying to get better at running. We go to the track early in the morning. We are doing this bootcamp training me and my boyfriend. It's been a good program for me so far. We are 2 weeks already in, and when I mean boot camp training. This is what it is.. Just hard core Army Training. I love it. My arms hurts like hell. I never had to hold a push up before, for a min. Now, I know a little bit about how boot camp feels. Not only that. Real Boot camp will rip the fat right off your behind. My ex husband went into the Navy at 199, and when I saw him again after the program he was 35 pounds lighter. I didn't know who I was looking at... I'm glad my boyfriend sign us up for this 6 week boot camp program. :) I've ran those 3 miles harder and faster since I've started. I mean. You have a big man yelling at you for an hour and see what you can improve.

Sadly, no change since last week!

If you truly ran 5 minute miles then your run was very special.  World class athletes run 4 minute miles and most good runners run 6 - 8 minute miles.  Great Job!   I'm jealous. Although I'm not a runner, when I do run I only run 9 - 10 mnute miles.

Bpcrue, Thanks, I know it's special, but it really don't feel that special to me you know. I've been running for a long time, and I like to run.. I mean.. I ran track for 3 years in high school. I just started to really run 4 months back. The key to my quick style of running is a really good 10 min warm up on the side. I know that's a little too long, but it really keeps me from getting sore. Then my couch has always said. I run like a deer.. You don't hear me its a lite movement. I try to to keep the weight in my legs.. Heavy legs makes for a longer harder run. So, I run on the balls of my feet, and I stay lite on my feet. I started at 7 to 8 mins a mile give a take 4 months ago, and I didn't try to push past that. Boot camp, and that damn man yelling at me.... Really did work for me.. I mean.. That "Move it Move it" really does get to you..

 GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

Lynnhaslost.

I want to be like you. I am envious. I cannot break a 8.5-9.0 min mile. But then I usually have my IPOD tunes going in my ear. I rock out and pretty much run to the tunes. Anyway, truly I am jealous but nevertheless, keep up the good work and the great physical activity. Peace.

Happy Thursday!  Almost at the end of the week.  The Peewee football players are kicking my butt this week.  We've been doing plyometrics with them for about 15-20 minutes each night and my legs are so sore.  Good workout.

Here is what I have for my numbers on 7/28/08:

CW: 188.6 (-1, -4.4 overall for this challenge)

GW: 180.0

BMI: 27

CBF%: 14.8% (10mm on the caliper)

GBF%: < 12% (6-7mm on the caliper)

Good Luck to everyone!

Hi all,

Have had a pretty crappy week - especially eating wise!! I really need to get myself back into gear and back onto the healthy eating wagon.  Didnt weigh-in on Monday, because stayed at my boyfriends house & didnt bring the scales.
